How quickly does one lose gains from weight lifting?

Question:
Assuming they eat poorly, sleep little, and drink alcohol. I was doing so well with pushups, situps, and chinups and then....bam, i quit. i know i am going to get lectures here. how quickly can i get it back. i worked out religiously every other day for three months. i even made somewhat quick gains. i was sooo out of shape in the start. i could only curl 30 pounds 10 times. by the end, i was up to over 60 pounds for three sets.

How much do you weigh??

Other Answers:
I think it just depends on your body... get back in it. Its worth it!
depends on if you're going to go back to eating healthy and maintaining your work out schedule. if you do, give yourself about 2-3 months or more if you have a few relapses in between.
i had a friend who was big into lifting and muscle toning. he quit for about a year for family matters, and lost his physique. he joined the local gym and within about 4 months he was back to his old self. (he had several lapses due to work/family matters, too!)
Good luck!
Have you cleaned up your eating and cut down on alcohol? Try adding more intensity in your workouts
It only takes three days for the muscles to go into muscle atrophy from disuse. After a month of no activity you'll have to start from the beginning.
