Help in falling asleep?
Question:
But I work a night job and when I get home in th AM, I find it hard to sleep unless I have a beer to relax me.
I hate sleeping pills and I want to be able to continue to keep fit, but I think drinking the beer is killing my abs?
Can some of you give me some tips or suggestions?

Breathing exercises are considered best for such a problem. After you come back home from work take a refreshing bath. Sit in the Yogic posture and breathe slowly and deeply for 5 minutes. Then Darken the room in which you sleep giving it a false appearance of night. While lying in the bed count and feel your breath enter into your body. After a few counts you will be asleep even before you realize that you are falling asleep. These counts will be more initially and later will reduce on its own (meaning you will fall a sleep faster).
I have worked in a similar shift 3 years ago. I know it works

Just a beer won't kill anything. As long as you dont drink the whole pack.
you should try warm milk and if that dosent work try working your self phisicly untill you are unable to press onward and relax in your bed untill you fall asleep... and yess beer is killing your abs
Well I have the same problem with sleep and one co workers told me to take melitonin I havent had any problems with it and no groggy feeling when you wake up its sold at you local store. Look it up, its what your body produces but some times not enough causing changes in you sleep cycle even if your days and nights are in reverse.
STOP DRINKING THE BEER AND INSTEAD INVEST IN SOME CHAMOMILE TEA , IT WILL HAVE YOU ASLEEP IN NO TIME . AND CONGRATS ON YOUR WEIGHT LOSS .
Just like Godsbird said in her reply, try cammomile tea.
I don't usually drink tea, but I started drinking it at work (I work in a pharmacy), and was starting to get really sleepy while I was filing every night.. lol
So I asked the pharmacist why I was so sleepy lately - and she pointed out the tea I was drinking... Until then I had NO IDEA that it was a natural sleep inducer. I was like - DUH! So I stick to cammomile when I'm sick, and when I want to sleep.
Also, it's REALLY good for your throat, if you're a singer, or if you have a sore throat! (Personally I wait till it's room temperature, or I add an icecube to it. Too hot is not good for your esophogus.)

Beer & Pot while cooking yourself a high protein breakfast or dinner (i work late-late too.) so sometimes it's eggs, and other times herbed quinoa w/ seasonal veg., and grilled chicken or tofu and a fat free vinagarette, all nestled into low carb pita bread snuggling up to baby spinach and tickled by slivered almonds .If your awake through that, don't worry, you will probably fall asleep very soon after! Dont forget to turn of the burners before your slumber!!! D@mn I'm hungry, It's good to be a chef! Good night
