How many people out there have lost weight (more than 20 lbs.) in the last year? How did you do it?

Question:
I have lost 40 lbs. since February and have hit a plateau. I'm looking for new ideas. (I lost it by cutting back on the carbs, no more sodas, and no more fast food.)

Answers:
First of all, keep your goals realistic. It is a health risk to lose more than 3 pounds a week, and if you do, it is probobly just water weight anyway (that comes right back).

Take a walk for 30 minutes a day, adding 10 minutes each week. Once you get up to an hour long walk, start biking or running for 20 minutes a day, adding on minutes once again. By the time you are biking for an hour a day, just keep at it and you'll keep losing.

Remember to EAT YOUR BREAKFAST. Eating Breakfast will reduce your hunger and increase your energy throughtout the day. You should have a large breakfast, smaller lunch, and light dinner. Or you can have multiple small meals throughout the day. Avoid snacking at night, and when you really want junk food, eat a half serving and substitute the other half with a fruit or veggie. Make sure you drink water too, it's helpful in losing weight faster. Be sure to lay off soda.it's high in cals.

I lost 80 pounds of fat and gained 20 pounds of muscle doing that. It took me 5 and a half months and it is REALLY easy to keep off. I didn't take any pills or fast, either.

I wish you the best of luck with the rest of your weight loss!:)

I lost by doing Atkins.

The old fashioned way - exercise. For me it was going back to cycling. I bought a nice road bike and put a bunch of miles on it. Combined with a healthier diet, I lost a bunch of weight, and also built my endurance, respiratory strength, and am more alert.
I got off the couch and started doing things. Surprisingly cleaning helps lose weight, drink water, and a glass of milk or juice with calcium. This all should help also. And Congrats of the weight loss.
Run everyday work out regularly.
Release from GNC
Weight Watchers is awesome- and switch up your exercise. Try weight training! Or The FIRM (you can find it online or at Target)

Good luck and congrats on how far you've come!
Lay off the junk-food.
Running is a great way to firm up and drop pounds! It's easy and you can do it anywhere!

Try going to the beach and running that way you can meet some cute guys while you're at it! Show off those 40 pounds you've lost!!
Some people say to do only 1/2 an hour cardio, but I find that it's better to do at least 50 minutes to an hour, it is way more beneficial. Your metabolism doesn't start burning fat until after 30 minutes, so just think that's 20 minutes of cardio burning then weight lifting for toning. I use to be 300 pounds and now I am down to 175, just by dieting (and not too strictly) and exercising at a gym. Good luck!
I am doing know. I take 3 (yellow Swarm) ever day. I dont eat after 5:00 PM. I am doing 30 min cardio ever day and i do 1:00 or 2:00 of weights before cardio.

I dont work out on sundays and i eat any think that i want too only sundays.

I am 6.0 tall and i have 195 Ponds need to be for my self 180 or 175.
I ran for an hour then play any sport. If you want sweets substitute it with fruits. I became from a size 14 with my jeans to a size 4.
I've dropped 20 pounds in 2 months. Watching both calories and carbs has helped. Also, I use the Kraft web site(http://kraftfoods.com/kf/HealthyLiving/) food log to keep track of my intake. It makes it obvious when I'm getting too many carbs or calories. Definitely plan to increase activity level to speed things up and tone up as I go.

Good job on your 40 so far!
I used this negative calorie diet and lost 25 pounds

YEAH!! Congrats on your success and doing it the right way.

Try lifting weights. Not a lot, just small (1-2 pound) dumbells and ankle weights.

When you lift weights, you make your body denser, thus increasing your metabolism. Your body will use more energy that way.
i had my second baby while my hubby was in Iraq so i never sat down. (and yes the baby was hubby's lol)
Try a cleansing diet! I tried this and lost 10.5 pounds and 17 inches in 9 days. Then I continued it and lost 25 pounds in 5 weeks. This program works to remove the toxins in the body that are stored in the fat cells. You cannot get rid of the fat cells unless you get rid of the toxins. We get toxins from pesticides, preservatives, fast food additives, chemicals, pollution, smoke etc… This was my first experience with cleansing and it worked wonderful! You can order at 1-877-587-4647. It is not a cheap program, but it works and is worth every penny!
