Before you start a diet and exercise program read the the following article: http://teenadvice.about.com/cs/bodyimage/bb/teendieting.htm
The following healthy living recommendations will help you if you’re trying to lose weight, tone up your muscles, have aspirations of building lean muscle mass, are attempting to get a wash board stomach, or just want to feel better:
*1) Burn more calories then you're consuming everyday and measure your results using the following formula: Calories Consumed minus Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) minus Physical Activity minus the Thermic Effect of Food (TEF). A website that explains this formula in more detail and will help you determine how many calories you need to reach or maintain a certain weight is at http://www.primusweb.com/fitnesspartner/library/weight/calsburned.htm
Get an online, desktop, or cell phone diet and fitness calculator. This will allow you to easily calculate the above formula, set goals, log your daily calorie consumption, and register your physical activities.
Set realistic goals for your ideal body weight. Here are two websites that will calculate a suggested body weight:
Adults: http://www.halls.md/ideal-weight/body.htm
Teens/Children: http://www.kidshealth.org/kid/exercise/weight/bmi.html
It is difficult and unhealthy to lose more than one or two pounds per week. There are 3,500 calories in a pound. If you eat 500 fewer calories per day for a week you will lose one pound. If you burn through exercise 500 more calories per day for a week you will lose one pound.

*2) Eat natural and organic foods found on earth versus something created by a corporation to make money. Eat meals in small portions throughout the day and take a good multi-vitamin supplement.
Do not try fad diets or diet pills. Avoid “High Glycemic Load Carbs” (sugar, pastries, desserts, refined starches such as breads, pasta, refined grains like white rice; high starch vegetables such as potatoes) and drink lots of water. Read this article for more information on high GL Carbs:

*4) Get plenty of sleep. Sleep experts say most adults need between seven and nine hours of sleep each night for optimum performance, health, and safety.
*5) Educate yourself continually on health issues and make a life long commitment to good health. A great free publication is “Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2005”. A reputable test you can take to measure your biological age is at http://realage.com
Look at all areas where you can enhance your health. For example, make improvements in the quality of the air you breathe. Review outdoor air quality forecasts where you live and get an indoor air purifier.

Three words: Tae Kwon DO. You'll solve both your problems and boost your self-esteem.
You don't.
1st how old r u? suck in and dont eat fat stuff
People have always been bullies. Standing up to them is part of life. Why should you have to change yourself just to satisfy them? Stand up for who you are, they have no right to judge you.
who cares you are there to learn not to be famous...
girls who can fight are sooooooo hot.
i agree with the tae kwon doe suggestion
First of all, it's not just people these days, there were always bullies.
And if you want to lose weight for school, shouldn't you have started when summer began?
Anyway, start really excersizing hard and don't eat sweets.
Martial Arts is good discipline. U will learn how 2 deal with bullies. It's not that bad.
Well for starters dont let bullies get to you coz they only get what they deserve later on, what goes around comes around. And if your still pretty young dont worry about it most people tend to lose weight the older they get especially when you start doing more sports in high school etc. Happened to me since i use to be fat as a kid but now am pretty fit
oh just stop. turn the page on them. dont let them push you around stand your ground and do what is right
well there is no way to get skinny fast! so i guess you're in it another year! get ready for the teasing and jokes and laughter about you! i would make fun of you too if you asked stupid questions like this one at school! hahahahahahahahahahaha the teasing has already started my dear!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Don't do anything drastic. Most likely, in your heart, you know what you have to do to get thin. Stop rationalizing all the food you sneakily eat. Then complain later that you never eat anything and can't get thin.
Calories in vs. Calories out is the only real way to lose weight
Dont' worry about the bully's. Speak softly and carry a big stick. They will back off. Do you have an older brother to enforce?
Exercise and diet. But no matter what, remember that you are beautiful no matter what people say. People who are mean are just unhappy with themselves and will find fault in others so they don't feel so bad about themselves. These people will pick on anybody, even thin people. Realize the problem is not your weight, it is THEM!
Pplz have been doing that for years, so I wouldn't change for them!
I'll be you are a great person and please don't give in to those evil ppl!
Skinny is not all that is cracked up to be!
I recommend excercise if you insist on losing a couple pounds, my favorite is running!
you should have been more concerned about losing weight when the summer began. right now, just try and do it the right way, if you DO wanna lose weight. Exercise, eat healthy, etc. it's okay if you aren't a skinny twig when school starts. At least people will see your progress, and maybe even congradulate you on it. good luck
Don't worry about what other ppl think.... people will like you if you like yourself so don't try to be someone your not..... theres no way that you can lose weight really fast but if your not satisfied with the way you look try not eatting so much and work out drink lots and lots of water and try to cut out the soda it makes a difference
You know, school is no picnic. I had a client in there once. He said the trick is: kick someone's *** the first day, or become somebody's b*tch. Then everything will be alright.
exercise and eat healthy food and do that in school and no one should make fun of you and if they do just say omg you have nothing better to do in your life than pick me, wow how desprit.
Stop eating alot of food and walk around. When i say stop eating alot of food i'm don't mean a pig i mean eat heavier foods like noodles and walk it off ^_^ i don't mean your normal slow walk i mean like you are walking in Manhattan rush rush walk when you walk up steps go 2 at a time not one step it will help you lose fat in your legs, By walking around fast you will lose fat in your stomach area and if you eat healthy you will get a six depending on how long you could walk i would say in about 3 days you will lose a pound or 2 in a week you should fell great but if you do it for a while and then like a week later eat a piece of Cake you will fell really full, but you would want to walk it off so it is a win/win
Being skinny isnt going to get you less abuse, its going to get you more. Tell me how catty, and competitive girls can be with each other when they are competing for something. Nobody wants to be on the recieving end of that. Its like being in a pool of sharks when its being chummed. They tear you apart. Dont get into the pool, the blood they are looking to drink is really their own.
It sounds like you are that time in life/high school when children show their inhumanity the most. Im going to tell you a universal truth, most adults did such stupid stuff in high school that they are ashamed of it, and regret it. If you can wait a few years, the people who are being abusive and evil will want to pretend it never happened. They want to pretend that they are normal healthy human beings (whatever that means), and its a tacit expression of shame.
Act more nobly and excellently now, and establish in the language of actions your true nobility and excellence.
First, ignore the little peons. Second, study, learn to spell, do well in school. Third, go to college, get a degree. Finally, make those same little bastards that bullied you end up working for you.
Bullies are so OVERRATED...
They are moronic people are are need to hurt others to make themselves happy. Ignoring them is best. When you move on to higher education, get a good job... these people will be gone. They end up disturbed and conflicted.
Making fun of others is their way of hiding them inner emotions.
Losing weight: it doesn't just happen overnight.
you must put in lots of effort.
1. eat a smaller portion (diets don't work, so just eat slightly less)
2. exercise religiously--- walk, swim, jog, jump
3. help out around the house, it cuts calories
4. don't watch too much tv, couch potato doesn't help lose weight
5. Relax... stress is a big factor
Good luck and be healthy, girl!
Isn't a matter of being bullied, it's a matter of being a push over and allow it. There're may chubby girls and more that never get bullied, why do you think ? You need to stand your ground and why allow it anymore, you'll feel better by standing up for yourself. There's nothing wrong with you.
Remember that people ARE bullies and that there is NO REASON.
You do not need to be skinny, you need to be healthy. BIG difference!
If you aren't exercising, start exercising. Not all day, every day - at least 3 times a week, no more than 5 times a week. Don't over do it, either. I recommend the eliptical for 20 minutes, and then some light weights. Remember, if you keep the weight machines light and do multiple sets (meaning 12 of the exercises in a row, 2 or 3 times with a 30-second break in between), that will help you tone your muscles very quickly. Be sure to stretch after you run and after you exercise! Drink lots of water.
Also, start eating healthy. DO NOT STOP EATING. DO NOT MAKE YOURSELF SICK. I'm a 20-year old girl who was a camp counselor and has seen way too many girls who starve themselves and make themselves ill because other people are cruel. If you eat healthy, which means a well-rounded diet, you will become a healthy weight for yourself. It will take time, but it's a much better way to do it than the quick-fixes. Eat fish and chicken (if you eat meat) rather than red meat (no hamburgers or steak, etc.). Lots of vegetables and fruits. Keep the fatty foods to a minimum. Be sure to eat at least 3 meals a day, preferably 5 smaller meals spread out during the day. Drink lots and lots of water.
If you do this, the exercise will give you endorphins which make you feel good about yourself. You will start looking better, which will make you feel good about yourself. And by eating healthy, you will have good vitamins and nutrients in your body, so you'll feel more alive and energetic. By drinking a lot of water, your skin will be nicer and you'll be thinner.
This is a win-win answer. You'll feel better about yourself. Forget about the stupid bullies - this should be about you trying to make yourself happier with yourself. Once that happens, who cares what idiots say? If those girls want to eat celery every day, let them! You go on and have a nice salad with grilled chicken and lots of veggies, with a fruit cup for dessert! Sounds quite a bit better, yeah?
I think the first answer is right for two reasons:
1. Tae Kwon Do teaches you to defend yourself
2. It is a great exercise. My daughter is entering 8th grade and her school provides Tae Kwon Do instead of traditional P.E.
#1 won't help you with verbal bullies, however. If you hit first, you will be seen as the aggressor and punished accordingly.
So, you have to have the wit to come back at them. The key is to embarrass the verbal bully. Make a list of come backs to all the oft-repeated insults you get throughout the year. Practice with a sympathetic sibling. If you offend someone enough to have them hit you or take a swing, TKD their ***.
Good luck kid, and heed this advice: your school years will mean very little when you're an adult.
Avoid eating disorder situations, you may get skinny.. but you also get very sick and the look you obtain from them is kind of disgusting, the people I know that did that looked better with the extra weight.
Depending on your age, there could be a number of reasons for why you consider yourself overweight - whether you actually are is another question. At any rate, if you are looking to lose weight I'd reccommend watching what you eat, limit your diet to water and juices, more vegetables and less junk food and fast food. You shouldn't have any problem finding guides to healthy eating on the internet. Leave your meat/bread intake where it is and just concentrate on avoiding sodas and foods with no nutritional value.
If you are old enough to handle drugs responsibly, try hydroxycut or something like that.. it's not completely naturally - but when mixed with dieting it can be very effective and a lot safer than starving yourself.
If you are under 13, just wait it out.. a lot of people lose weight between 12-14.. I know I did. I started playing baseball and that helped me lose weight around that age, you can consider something like that and maybe just jogging or walking to go with dieting.
You don't get skinny fast. It takes work...persistence...every day remember how you are being treated and channel that energy into working out. NEVER EAT JUNK OR FAST FOODS!!! Eat and drink water, dairy products, meats, fruits, veggies...and avoid processed foods...frozen dinners, fast food, restaurants in general...most serve fried food. Cook your own food. Exercise...do aerobic exercises every day...40 min. - 1 hr if it is just marching in place. Try everything else...MOTIVATE YOURSELF!!! If you really try, people will start telling you that you look better in two to six months! And the more compliments you get, the better you will feel, the more you will want to do this!!! Six months is right around the corner...believe me...you will love it!!!
Let me tell you first off : don't do something like throw up your food, or get anorexia. Before you even decide tolose weight, you have to respect and like yourself. Don't give a sh*t what people say. I know it might hurt you, but you have to love yourself before you do anything. But if you want to lose weight, buy some exersize tapes and go on a diet. You might even be able to fast for one day a month, and have a snack every once in a while. But make sure your body gets all the neutrients it needs. Hun, being skinny is not the answer to your problems. But whatever u do, make sure you lose the weight with excersize - NOT with and eating disorder. I wish you best though.
First, don't think losing weight will stop bullies. Think about your overall health first. Eat more nutritious food, smaller portions, fewer snacks; stay away from soda, candy bars and other "empty calories". Exercise regularly, first for cardiovascular fitness, then for strength.
Second, I agree that martial arts are good for strength, state of mind, and self-esteem. They teach balancing mind and body in a way that few other sports do. Aikido is an excellent martial art.
Bullies prey on uncertainty and lack of confidence. Uncertainty is natural your time of life - it's part of learning. If, however, you give yourself reasons to be confident, you will project confidence, and this will keep away most bullying. Give yourself confidence by excelling in school and other activities. Starting a martial art can build confidence. Believe in yourself. Bullies are afraid of those who know themselves.
Finally, seek help if you need it. It's not wussing out or anything to speak with parents, teachers, other "authority figures". Make sure you are safe.
