atkins help? please?

i've been doing atkins for about a week now, im following the diet very strictly and havent lost any weight. i only eat meat,fish,cheese,eggs and butter, all with no or low carbs. and i dont touch sugar or alcohol. any input would be much appreciated. thank you very much in advance.

It's been awhile since I've done Atkins, but if I remember correctly I didn't see much results that first week. Remember you're body has to go through the adjustment phase. You should start seeing results at the end of week two, just be patient and keep doing what you're doing.

Do make sure that you're not drinking things that you're not suppose to either. Switch to the diet drinks or stick with water or koolaid. You can use splenda as a sweetener.

I think a common problem w/Atkins is people feel they can eat as much as they want - even if it's "On the diet". You still need to cut back on portion size because calories in=calories out.

i did atkins and wound up getting gout, serious pain in the big toe and risk of other problems later, you should do weight watchers, much safer, healthier and more permanent You cannot simply eat meat and protein. That is a common misconception. You need vegetables, and vitamins. Go to atkins.com and check it out.


It might take a little longer for your body to go into "ketosis" than some people..so go to the pharmacy isle of any grocery or drug store and buy a kit that tests your urine for ketosis levels. If you are in ketosis you will start to see the weight drop really soon. Watch your salt/sodium intake because the water you are retaining could offset the actual weight you have dropped.
