How many cows do Americans consume every year?

Question:
And.. where are they?? I read somewhere they were all in South America and then the meat was shipped to the US.

Answers:
Cattle are raised all over the U.S. for meat consumption. Places like Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas, Missouri, Arizona, South and North Dakota, Wyoming, Montana .. I'd be willing to bet that every state in the U.S. has places that raise cattle for beef. (Hawaii has one of the largest privately owned ranches in the U.S. ) The beef producers in all these states are working very hard to be sure our beef is the best and safest in the world. My husband and I don't give our calves hormones or antibiotics. We always save back a calf or two to fatten out and butcher. We split this with our daughters and their families. If our beef wasn't safe, I sure wouldn't feed it to our grandchildren!

Other Answers:
The plural for cow is cattle not cows.

That is a LOTSA COWS you are talking about :-) !
I don't have any idea how much beef does USA consumes in a year ?

I would be very much intrested in the answer.
Best of Luck !

Cows are female bovine that have given birth. Cattle is the plural form of the bovine species.

Here is a website for all the cattle statistics from the United States.

In 2004 there were 32,880,000 cattle slaughtered.
