Your bones and joints are adjusting to the exercise. This'll pass after a while.

yeah take some exercise... u can start by walkng early in the morning... walking is an exercise too... then if you think your kneess are quite ready for jogging, then have a little jogging evry morning... start from 10 minute then slowly add some more minutes in your daily routine...
I'd suggest strength training. I have bad knees as a result of a bad car accident when I was 15. I always avoided doing any type of knee exercise for that reason. What I have learned through the years is that the best way to combat a knee injury is to strengthen the muscles around it. Now I do squats, leg curls, leg extensions, calf raises, leg presses, lunges and an array of other weight training for overall strength and health. Start out very light and add 5 pound a session. You'll slowly build muscle and increase your stamina and endurance.
Also, don't work the same muscle groups two days straight. Your muscles need recovery time. When you use a muscle group, the muscle fibers "rip". Then they rebuild, bigger, stronger and tougher then before. If you keep tearing the muscle up and don't allow it to rebuild with time off and nutrition then you are only damaging yourself.
Drink lots of water, take care of your body and it will take care of you for years to come.
I just a medical student and going to answer this question as best I can.

Pain in knees and ankles associated w/ exercise can be due to variety of things such as, obesity, lack of exercise, Low bone density, lack of calcium, might be a condition called "Gout" it can be suspected if your joints are inflammed.

Xrays don't show every thing. I think you should stick to what your doc. told you , exercise, and work on your nutrition. I don't know what age you are, but most of the young folks have very poor diet these days. Get some multi-Vitamin.

Hope you feel better.
WB,

Do you have running shoes? If not, invest in a pair.

How is your form? When you run, if you land on your toes or the ball of your feet, the impact will go to your knees, which can't handle it. If you land on your heels, the impact will go to your thighs and butt (big muscle groups) which can handle it. You'll burn, but you won't be in pain.

Are you running on concrete? Run on asphalt. Concrete hurts. A lot.

When you finish your run, ice your ankles and knees. before you shower. 20 minutes is good.

A marathon runner suggested the following exercise for me (I have inflammed ligaments in my knees):

Squat
Circle your knees 15 times left
Circle your knees 15 times right

Also, I take Motrin after my runs.
I think you may have started exercising a little too hard and your body is trying to tell you something, I suggest you listen to it!
I have some great websites for you to check out

Here are a few websites that will help you to begin a fitness walking program
http://www.preventdisease.com/fitness/fitness_walking.html
http://www.preventdisease.com/fitness/walking_schedule.html

Or if you prefer, you can begin a jogging program

you may also check the following website out

I would suggest you to start slow and if you do start to hurt you need to quit and give your body enough time to recover. Pain is an important message that your body is trying to tell you something, and it should never be ignored.
