The following healthy living recommendations will help you if you’re trying to lose weight, tone up your muscles, have aspirations of building lean muscle mass, are attempting to get a wash board stomach, or just want to feel better:
*1) Burn more calories then you're consuming everyday and measure your results using the following formula: Calories Consumed minus Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) minus Physical Activity. Get a diet and fitness calculator that you can put on your computer or cell phone. This will allow you to easily calculate this formula, set goals, log your daily calorie consumption, and register your physical activities.
*2) Eat natural and organic foods found on earth versus something created by a corporation to make money. Eat meals in small portions throughout the day and take a good multi-vitamin supplement.
Avoid “High Glycemic Load Carbs” (sugar, pastries, desserts, refined starches such as breads, pasta, refined grains like white rice; high starch vegetables such as potatoes) and drink lots of water. Read this article for more information on high GL Carbs:

See a doctor or a registered dietician and go from there!
Avoid the word DIET (a 4-letter word), and try thinking of your food intake as an eating pattern.
I tend to stick to a low fat diet that is still enjoyable but healthy, I eat a lot of chicken breast/fish (not battered) with veg, jacket potatoes,wholemeal/brown bread, homemade soup, rice lots of fruit. I still have biscuits and crisps etc but only as a treat. Check out the fat content on food before you buy, i dont tend to buy food that has more than 5g fat per 100g. Peppers and mushrooms are delicious fried up (i have a non stick pan and dont use any oil) with strips of chicken or turkey, i add a tomato based sauce as these are usually low fat and some pasta, its very filling and healthy. Salads can be delicious too if your inventive and use lots of fresh ingredients, there are plenty of low fat dressings. My advice would be not to buy lots of 'diet' food they are misleading and expensive. I cant do a low carb diet or i get ill and this works for me. The key is to make small changes gradually or it wont work, Good luck xxx im on a diet at de mo and the only way that i was able to loose halph a stone in a week was because my mum was alao on one and she is helping me.
the best place to go for healthy food is 'waitrose' they have products called 'balanced diet' or something. its really good because they have thingss like rasberry sundays and stuuf that are all healthy. also on any foods like ham, or bacon make sure that u cut off all the fat
hope this helps
