They make my junk bounce.

good question. they make your blood flow around your body.

Well jumping jacks are aerobic so they will help you burn calories which is the best thing for wieght loss.

try jumping rope instead. it's less impact and will burn just as many or more calories. Good luck.

It gets you moving so you are losing weight but obviously not a whole heck of a lot. I think its more of a cardio type of activity and often used in warm ups. maybe make you taller

Basicly jumping jacks loosen up your muscles for other rigorous activity along with burn a few calories

Well, not a whole lot, they don't help you lose weight, they help your muscles. When your arms pull up, it stretches your abs, and your legs going out and in stretch out your legs.
Try subsituting water, juice, tea, and milk for soda, and you will already notice a difference!

Excellent exercise for your heart and to burn calories. jumping jacks exercise the whole body.

Studies now show that diet drinks may actually hurt your weight loss efforts. There's an article about it in the latest Weight Watchers Magazine. They're pretty good aerobic exercise BUT if you are 100 lbs overwieght they're probably not a good idea at the present time. You run the risk of doing damage to your lower joints -- hips, knees, ankles and feet -- due to the increased impact load due to your weight. Hold off on the JJs until you're within 20 lbs of your healthy weight and then consider adding them to your exercise routine.

At your weight, walking is a far better way to get the exercise that you need without damaging your joints. Also, as a weight loss routine, the sauna is worthless. It causes water loss which will result in a slight weight loss but you'll gain that all back in a few hours. Done to excess it can cause dehydration which can be a dangerous situation.

At your weight, your basal metabolism is fairly high just keeping your body operating. If you increase your activity level even a little bit you'll see immediate benefit. Simple things such as walking a couple of miles a day for starters will help immeasureably. You don't need to do it all at once either. The benefits are cumulative. As your weight drops, you'll be able to do more without injury and compound the benefits of this activity.

Do check with your doctor for guidance for your particular situation. You need to balance exercise with reasonable diet to lose weight and keep it off. It's a lifestyle change but if you implement the changes in small bites (pun indended!) you are much more likely to keep the changes incorporated into your daily routine and reap a lifetime of benefits.

Good luck! Jumping jacks helps with the blood circulation in the body and gets the heart rate up. It helps burn calories kind of like jogging or running, but you have to keep doing it for a significant amount of time and not stop right when you get tired in order to burn calories.
