I am a secretary in an office, so I sit at a desk all day. Is there a way for me to get some exercise?

Question:
A lot of people say to walk as much as I can during the day, which I do, but does anyone have any other suggestions?

Answers:
Your best bet is to workout in the morning b4 work. another option is to workout at lunch, another option is to go for a walk during lunch vs. eating. Lastly, you could work out after work. I know it is tough, but exercise is very important if you are relatively inactive during the day. Otherwise you are almost begging for weight gain and other problems.

Good luck!

Flex muscles while sitting and fidget. the calories burned add up
I am a computer programmer, so I don't get a whole lot of exercise at work either. However, it isn't unusual for me to burn 300 - 750 calories a day in activities after work.

For instance, before work, I lifted weights (150 - 200 calories). At lunch, I walked to the sandwich shop (100 calories). After work I'll do a minimum of 3 miles -- maybe 6 depending if it cools off enough (it is in the upper 90's today). So that's another 300 - 600 calories.

Ultimately, you have to make time to exercise. You can burn a few calories walking around the office, but don't expect to lose major amounts of weight doing office exercises. There's just not enough of a calorie burn (and you certainly aren't going to improve your fitness).

Probably not the answer you wanted, but I have to call it like it is.

Good luck.
