The following healthy living recommendations will help you if you’re trying to lose weight, tone up your muscles, have aspirations of building lean muscle mass, are attempting to get a wash board stomach, or just want to feel better:
*1) Burn more calories then you're consuming everyday and measure your results using the following formula: Calories Consumed minus Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) minus Physical Activity minus the Thermic Effect of Food (TEF). A website that explains this formula in more detail and will help you determine how many calories you need to reach or maintain a certain weight is at http://www.primusweb.com/fitnesspartner/library/weight/calsburned.htm
Get a diet and fitness calculator that you can put on your computer or cell phone. This will allow you to easily calculate the above formula, set goals, log your daily calorie consumption, and register your physical activities.
Set realistic goals for your ideal body weight. Here are two websites that will calculate a suggested body weight:
Adults: http://www.halls.md/ideal-weight/body.htm
Teens/Children: http://www.kidshealth.org/kid/exercise/weight/bmi.html
It is difficult and unhealthy to lose more than one or two pounds per week. There are 3,500 calories in a pound. If you eat 500 fewer calories per day for a week you will lose one pound. If you burn through exercise 500 more calories per day for a week you will lose one pound.
*2) Eat natural and organic foods found on earth versus something created by a corporation to make money. Eat meals in small portions throughout the day and take a good multi-vitamin supplement.
Avoid “High Glycemic Load Carbs” (sugar, pastries, desserts, refined starches such as breads, pasta, refined grains like white rice; high starch vegetables such as potatoes) and drink lots of water. Read this article for more information on high GL Carbs:

*3) Exercise on most days by doing cardiovascular training and/or resistance training activities.
Read a book or find a certified trainer to make sure your doing all resistance training exercises correctly. A great book to buy that teaches you the resistance training basics is “Weight Training for Dummies”. *4) Get plenty of sleep. Sleep experts say most adults need between seven and nine hours of sleep each night for optimum performance, health, and safety.
*5) Educate yourself continually on health issues and make a life long commitment to good health. A great free publication is “Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2005”. Look at all areas where you can enhance your health. For example, make improvements in the quality of the air you breathe. Review outdoor air quality forecasts where you live and get an indoor air purifier. i think yr going to find you cant do that. this article has some great weight loss programs and exercise that will help you
None. It doesn't exist. The MOST you will be able to do, under OPTIMAL circumstances is 10 pounds. And it will be ALL water weight.
Get your mouth wired shut, go on dialysis & get 20 lbs of fluid
pulled out and pray!
20 pounds in a week is risky and it would require lot of working and sacrifices plus it would be a weight you would recover right away.
I dropped 135 pounds but in 6 months and it was because since my body was not used to work out and eat healthy, my body got quick results but it is not the same about a person who is close to its weight.
My diet was
Boiled chicken
Fish
Vegetables.- All but avocado, carrot, potatoe.
No rice, no bread, no candies, no fat
No fruits
Only lettuce, some tomatoe.
It is lot of sacrifice and despite the good results and I did not gain weight again, it is lot of sacrifice.
And to this diet you must add like 2 hours of work out.
You know if you follow it, but I don't recomend it because you are in bad mood and you feel weak and tired most of time.
Is that you, Jess? Honey, your doctor is INSANE. There's no safe way to lose that much weight in such a small amount of time. But I did have a guy friend years ago that dropped weight quickly by just eating fruits and veggies and drinking gallons of water. Make sure you take a multiviatmin everyday. Try swimming. . . you burn 600 calories an hour doing the butterfly stroke!!!!
yea i think 20 a week is a little unsafe. An appropriate goal would be more like 20 in am onth. About 2.5lbs a week is actually a safe amount to lose a week. crash diets will fuk with your metabolism and if you do lose weight you're sure to gain it back quickly. Changing your eating habits to lean proteins (turkey, fish, chicken seafood, egg whites)(add red meat once a week if you feel you would like more muscle) and eat tons of veggies. stay away from sugars complex carbs and sodium (this makes you hold water) and get your carbs from veggies like potatoes. Add 30 mins of cardio 3 times a week and a couple strength training exercises to the areas you want improvment on and you WILL see results in the first week. Eat often with 1 portion of each (protein, carbs, greens) each time. So you might not lose 20 lbs in one week but its a great change to make to your lifestyle to take it off and keep it off.
Any weight you loose quickly, you put it back on just as fast. The best way is always a healthy diet and exercise. Do it slowly by reducing sweet/oily/fatty foods so that your body doesn't starve for all these foods then your metabolic rate will drop and it will get harder to loose weight. First you will start loosing the water weight and then the fat. My sister is doing that right now and trust me it is working, after almost 4 weeks I really see a slimmer person. Pick a diet that suits you and your lifestyle. Don't make the mistake of choosing the wrong diet. Happy Dieting!
no way can you do that it would be water weight the most healthfully someone could lose weight is 2 pounds a week we do not put it on fast we should not try to take it off fast.
