Answers:
You are dealing with the same beliefs that have made many countries ridden with fat people. You need to re-learn all this stuff and how will power and forcing yourself make it worse. See site below and take the time to read it all so you have a great chance of being a slim person without trying very hard.

Do this now for a much easier time. Do this not and continue to suffer. It is a lot you need to re-learn. Lose weight so your clothes will be more loose on you. You need to learn to EAT, not drink, more water.

You need to do some research about weight loss and find out what kind of foods that your eating or think you should be eating and how they affect your body. You also need to find out what different types of exercises do for your body and weight loss. Be your own trainer and nutritionist, the basic rules to losing weight are no soda, no fast food, lots of chicken, fish, fresh (not canned that’s bad) fruits and vegies, whole wheat stuff, yogurt. Not so many cakes and donuts and cookies. Basic common sense for eating, you just need to enforce it. Get all the bad stuff out of the house right away, just toss it or give it away while your still motivated. No alcohol if that applies. Some juice but make sure its all natural, because the ones that aren't are loaded with sugar and a leading cause in diabetes in children and adults. Lots of water, 3-4 liters a day, not all at once, but spread it out. Its really easy to down a liter or two while your watching tv or on the computer. Also drink some after you eat the bigger meals of the day, it helps your body pick out the nutrients in food when your food is more spread apart. You also need to stay away from any sports drinks unless you’ve just had a long workout and then you need to limit yourself. Most atheletes mix Gatorade with water because its two complex for your body to get all the nutrients out of. It needs to be diluted. These rules may be hard to adapt to at first so start with cutting out the things you know you can live without. Then work from there. Remember these are perfect eating habits, it can take you a while to work into it. If you know you can’t live without your one treat a day, don’t fight it by trying to eat something else, just eat it and make sure that’s the only one you cheat on a day. Otherwise you’ll get depressed and quit. Another important point is getting the right amount of sleep every night. You need 8-9 hours of sleep each night for your body to function correctly. This is an important factor of losing weight. Set up a routine for yourself and go to bed at about the same time each night.
As for exercise, lots of cardio. Find something you like. If you have never exercised much before, start with walking 30 minutes a day at a brisk pace. Move on to different terrains that include hills and increase the time spent. After a week or two, try jogging the route. No matter what find an activity you enjoy. Walking to jogging is just an example, try hiking, rollerblading, biking. Once you get into a regular routine, if your not happy with the level of difficulty, try signing up with a gym. Spinning, pilates or kickboxing classes are great. It will also introduce you to working with weights. Talk to a trainer for instruction before using any weights. A cheap investment is a balance ball, it works you stomach while your just sitting on it, like at your computer and its great for posture. There are hundreds of exercises you can use it for for your entire body. I can give you some ideas if you want, just email me. when you loose weight, you loose it really fast at first, but then you slow down because muscle weighs more than fat, and going to the gym builds up msucles. all good things take time, and it's gonna take your body longer than 8 months to reach that goal.

in order for me to stay on a fitness plan, i have to be doing the workout everyday or else i'll slack off and eventually stop altogether. so maybe maybe instead of doing 10 hours a week, you could do 1.5 hour everyday, for a total of 10.5 hours a week.

you already lost 16kg in 8 months.you're doing a great job. unlike people that stop eating to lose weight, the weight you lost should stay off. if you're just doing cardio right now, try some weight lifting. cardio can get pretty boring especially doing it for an hour or more.
You talk about working out at the gym and constantly reminding yourself about your size. But nowhere do you mention changing your eating habits.

Exercise is great, but along with exercise you have to eat fruits (not juice) and vegetables, which are low in calories and high in water & fiber content. Water and fiber both make you feel full longer and fiber makes your digestive system work harder in assimilating food..which in turn burns more calories.

Also, try your hardest to avoid processed foods. Basically anything that is partially precooked (ie, quick cooked rice or oats) , can be instantly eatten from a box. ( ie, crackers, chips) , or 'enriched' bread products. When food is processed or partially cooked, it has been partially broken down before it reaches your mouth. This means your digestive system will not work as hard to assimilate food and you will burn less calories.
losing weight is not only hard it is a lifelong change you have to really want. Make sure your goals are realistic and if you still can't motivate yourself to work out and try to loose the weight on your own, weight watchers is a great option. I did it for years and loved it and never gained any weight. 8 months is not the longest time (even though it feels that way) just hang in there, it will happen you just can't give up and don't look at yourself as a failure.it won't help the situation, just keep trying!
You are NOT a failure, you have done a great job on your own. Losing 16 kg in 8 months is great.
Are you sure you need to get to 55kg.
Your current weight of 70 kg would be a good weight for someone who is between 5' 6" and 6' 1". How tall are you ?
