50 grams of fat is too much, like that is the amount in a double whopper w/cheese, don't eat that.

look for foods higher in protein and without too much simple sugar as well - try not to have more than 20% sugar in any food source

Fat really isn't important when it comes to weight loss. It's calories. The standard amount of calories that a person should consume daily is 2000. This depends somewhat on how active you are, etc. If you want to lose weight, you need to reduce the amount of calories you are eating. Try counting the calories you eat for a whole day and see where you stand. Then try to reduce that by 100 or 200 per day and see if you lose weight. If not, try to reduce it by 300 or 400. You can eat as little as 1200 calories, anything less than that is not healthy.
bake don't fry, eat lean meat only, plenty of fruit and veggies and carbs. get plenty of water and exercise. EXERCISE. you need to do that. and also eat sweets if you want, but in moderation. try eathing them slowly, i usually won't finish a slice of pie or a candy bar etc. after a few bites i can't taste anymore anyway. so i throw it away. better in the trash than in my stomach anyway.
p.s. stop eating when you feel full. don't feel guilty about a bit of waste. feel thankful that you can!!
I actually don't think fat has anything to do with it. It's the calories that I always cut. Ice cream and cake and things like that have too much sugar and are way to many calories! Your body only needs around 2000 calories a day, and if you eat a ton of ice cream etc, you are getting way too many! I cut out the calories, mostly the sweets, and eat more fruits and vegetables and whole grains if I want to lose weight.
Eating low fat foods can be good for you but remember that you do need some fat in your diet. Find a diet and exersise plan that works for you drink eight glasses of water a day and stick to it! Good luck!
ok, so if you ask every one what they eat, it will most likely be a fatty unhealthy food. but that is not why over 60 percent of america is overweight. everyone is overwieght because of lack of exercise. if you take 30 minutes a day, ten minutes at a time, and at least 5 times a week, you will get more fit and you will live longer! just exercise, dont worry about what you eat, well, dont worry alot.

If you want to lose weight ALWAYS eat breakfast. It gets your metabolism going. Try to do some moderate excercising every day. Lifting weights is also a great way to lose weight. You may gain weight on the scale but you will burn fat because lifting gets your metabolism going. Its not always about what your eating but what your doing. And try to never eat anything after 6.m. it just lays on your stomache.

look, it's a little more detailed than that! also, some fat is actually good for you. like mono-unsaturated fat. and weight control is about more than just low-fat. diet needs to be balanced with limit in portion size. the real, simple, yet not always easy-to-do secret is to NOT eat more CALORIES than you use each day. if you want to lose weight, eat fewer calories than you use.
Also, 2000 calories/day is a lot for most females!
well, generally, the amount of fat you should aim to consume is based on your diet and daily caloric intake.
as for saturated fat, you should try to keep it at no more than 10% of your daily fat intake. so if you have had a total of 60g of fat one day, the saturated fat from that, should be 6g or less.
dont forget the exercise! it's a real important addition to reducing fat intake
Look - it is really easy. If you don't want to be fat do this:
Eat a bowl of cereal for breakfast.
For Lunch eat WHAT EVER YOU WANT in porportion. Eat a Hamburger fries and have a soda. Dont have 3 hamburgers and 3 fries or 3 sodas. Limit your soda pop to 2 a day.
For dinner eat a normal meal also. I dont care how much fatty this or calorie that there is, this is the way to not be not fat. In addition when you start eating ice cream or chocolate or desserts or candy at all you WILL GAIN WEIGHT. Dont ever mix foods- dont have a sandwich and a candybar. Stop eating ice cream and candy and chocolate period. If you say "Well I really like those types of foods" well then you will always be fat.
I highly recommend you to read the book , Enter the Zone by Barry Sears. I 've been doing the diet for a week and feeling much better. Not only will help you to learn what to eat, what amount (personalized for your body)and how often; also, will help you to improve your health, and lose weight. It's good stuff.
Other very interesting book about nutrition is "Eat right for ypur type" by Peter D'adamo. This book is about the kind of foods that are good for your blood type.

Do what all these people say, and fast! It is a proven fact that fat people DIE! so unless you lose that weight, you will in all likelihood NOT live forever. enjoy life, tell others to mind their own business. you are who you are.
