Answers:
the basic rules to losing weight are no soda, no fast food, lots of chicken, fish, fresh (not canned that’s bad) fruits and vegies, whole wheat stuff, yogurt. Not so many cakes and donuts and cookies. Basic common sense for eating, you just need to enforce it. Get all the bad stuff out of the house right away, just toss it or give it away while your still motivated. No alcohol and no smoking if that applies. Lots of water, 3-4 liters a day, not all at once, but spread it out. Its really easy to down a liter or two while your watching tv or on the computer. Also drink some after you eat the bigger meals of the day, it helps your body pick out the nutrients in food when your food is more spread apart. Don’t think that sports drinks can replace water, the only time you need to drink them right after a workout, besides that just stick with water. These rules may be hard to adapt to at first so start with cutting out the things you know you can live without. Then work from there. Remember these are perfect eating habits, it can take you a while to work into it. If you know you can’t live without your one treat a day, don’t fight it by trying to eat something else, just eat it and make sure that’s the only one you cheat on a day. Otherwise you’ll get depressed and quit. Another important point is getting the right amount of sleep every night. You need 8-9 hours of sleep each night for your body to function correctly. This is an important factor of losing weight. Set up a routine for yourself and go to bed at about the same time each night.
As for exercise, lots of cardio. Find something you like. If you have never exercised much before, start with walking 30 minutes a day at a brisk pace. Move on to different terrains that include hills and increase the time spent. After a week or two, try jogging the route. No matter what find an activity you enjoy. Walking to jogging is just an example, try hiking, rollerblading, biking. Once you get into a regular routine, if your not happy with the level of difficulty, try signing up with a gym. Spinning, pilates or kickboxing classes are great. It will also introduce you to working with weights. Talk to a trainer for instruction before using any weights. A cheap investment is a balance ball, it works you stomach while your just sitting on it, like at your computer and its great for posture. There are hundreds of exercises you can use it for for your entire body. I can give you some ideas if you want, just email me. The slower you lose the weight the longer it will stay off. Be patient. If you feel like you have plateaued in your routine and you are not moving forward at all change your routine. Try adding some weight training. Muscle burns fat faster than cardio. In fact muscle will burn fat even while you are resting so it works all the time. Try adding some dumbbell work to your exercise routine. Light weights and lots of reps will keep you from bulking up too much, but will help you begin to progress more quickly towards your goal. Or splurge and buy yourself a session with a trainer. They will give you some ideas you can do on your own. Hope that helps!
TRY ATKINS LOW CARB DIET!! **GOOD LUCK** I WANNA LOSE BY TIME SCHOOL STARTS BACK TO!!
Either Exercise doing push ups or chin ups ! You feel the weight loss if you keep it up or just run on a treadmill for 5/6 hours without water on close to half/full speed ! If food is a problem just eat less than you normally eat !

Just an idea I thought of !
Lower your sugar intake and fried foods. That did the trick for me and now I'm becoming far more toned and cut than ever before. I initially lost 25 pounds in about three weeks without even doing any cardio. I quit drinking sweet tea and cokes, I started drinking unsweet tea, green tea, and bottled water. I also started eating much more baked and grilled foods instead of fried foods. Since you're doing cardio, you should really see some changes.

Also, try to lay off of the starches like breads and pastas.
Well the safe weight loss is 2lb per week. What you may find is that things are slow to begin with but keep at it. Also, try interval based workouts, drink plenty water and try and be patient.
Being a personal trainer and fitness manager i hear these comments a lot but u really cant rush it ok!! :)
its going to take a long time just eat right. don't exercise a lot like every day because youre body is going to get us to it and then wen u stop exercising u r going to gain the weight again.
Krista is WRONG: "Lots of water, 3-4 liters a day, not all at once, but spread it out. Its really easy to down a liter or two while your watching tv or on the computer. Also drink some after you eat the bigger meals of the day, it helps your body pick out the nutrients in food when your food is more spread apart. "

There's NO evidence that drinking that much water is helpful. You only need to drink when you're thirsty -- you get most of your water from the food you eat! Plus, the idea that "it helps your body pick out the nutrients" is just NUTS. Absolutely No basis for this idiotic statement. Just not true. Your body can get its nutrients just fine without a lot of water.

"Don’t think that sports drinks can replace water, the only time you need to drink them right after a workout, besides that just stick with water. "
Sports drinks are fine during AND after a workout. Otherwise, they're not necessary, but they're not harmful either.
For women with PMS, emotional eating, and stress, it may take longer but what you want to learn is healthly eating habits and a regular exercise routine so that you don't regain the weight after working so hard to lose (95% of american regain their weight or more after dieting)

Remember the following while dieting:

You already know how to lose weight. You know that if you eat less and exercise more eventually you’ll see the pounds come off. What’s getting in your way? Why do you usually regain the weight you lost? The answer to all these questions is the same “Emotional Eating.” Simply defined, emotional eating means you eat to satisfy emotional hunger; it means you use food for comfort or as a way to cope with life; and it means you eat for reasons other than what your body needs. Whenever you reach for a boredom-breaking snack despite your commitment, or whenever you eat to quell anxiety, that’s emotional eating. Whenever you binge after a fight, or double up on portions because your day turned sour, that’s emotional eating. Whenever you feel that sharp craving for your favorite food, that’s emotional eating. When we eat during these times while on a diet, we believe the diet doesn’t work or that we lack self control and then look for the quickest way to lose weight (fasting/diet pills, ect) after eating all we can since we already messed the diet day up. Read the information below but remember that emotional eating plays a big part in why we don’t continue dieting and why we regain lost weight and why we binge today and start a new diet tomorrow. Best of Luck.

Every year Americans invest billions of dollars in weight loss diets and gimmicks, many of which yield few results. However, the lure of quick, easy weight loss is hard to resist. Despite ineffective tools, most hopeful consumers are willing to give the next weight loss fad a chance. If you're planning to start a new diet, it is important to remember the following information.
Food-specific diets: Have you ever tried the cabbage diet or the fruit-only diet? These are just a couple of examples of diets that promote one "specific" food that causes weight loss. No matter how much you think you'll enjoy ice cream at every meal, inevitably you will get bored with eating the same food repeatedly. As a result, you'll eat less food than needed to maintain your weight. This type of diet will not teach you healthier eating habits or provide a balance of nutrients, and consequently is not effective for long-term weight loss.

High-protein, low-carbohydrate diets: One of the most recent trends in dieting, these diets are based on the concept that carbohydrates are "bad" and that everyone has some degree of insulin resistance, resulting in poor carbohydrate metabolism. Many proponents of these diets suggest that including carbohydrates in your diet will cause weight gain. The reality, though, is that eating more calories (whether as carbohydrate, fats, or protein) than you burn will cause weight gain.

High-fiber, low-calorie diets: Fiber-rich foods play an important role in a healthy diet. They are a helpful ingredient of weight loss efforts because they provide bulk to the diet, which helps you feel fuller sooner. Be careful, though: if you plan to increase the fiber in your diet, be sure to increase your fluid intake at the same time or you may experience cramping, bloating, and constipation. High-fiber diets will help with weight loss only if you restrict calories in conjunction with addition of extra grains, fruits and vegetables.

Liquid diets: Consumers face a couple of different liquid diet options. Your local grocery store and pharmacy sell over-the-counter liquid meal replacements, which can be expensive and frequently add extra calories to daily consumption if not managed carefully. On the other hand are liquid diets that require medical supervision. These diets are usually very low in calories and may result in metabolic abnormalities if dieters are not carefully monitored. Neither type of liquid diet should be used for long-term weight loss unless monitored by a health care professional. Radically changing your caloric intake in this way will not result in long-term behavior modification and healthy eating patterns.

Fasting: As a way to cleanse the body or jump-start a weight-loss program, fasting has been recommended for years. However, all that fasting really does is deprive your body of nutrients and decrease your energy, leaving you feeling weak and lightheaded. If the right nutrients are not available for your cells to use as energy, your liver will convert fat stores to ketones for use as energy (ketosis). Long-term ketosis can be harmful to your health.
No fad diet or gimmick will work magic for safe and effective weight loss. The following are some suggestions for ensuring a long-term healthy eating plan and getting your weight loss efforts off to an encouraging start:
Eat a variety of foods. Remember, a balanced diet will ensure that you get all necessary nutrients.

Get some physical activity every day. Calories in must be less than calories out to ensure successful weight loss. To keep "calories out" at a healthful level, make you get at least 30 minutes of physical activity every day.

Include sources of fiber in your diet. They will add bulk and give you a feeling of fullness.

Choose a diet low in fats, saturated fats, and cholesterol. You do need to consume some fat for good health. Aim for no more than 30 percent of your total calories as fat calories, of which no more than 10 percent should be saturated fat calories.

Choose foods moderate in sugars. Foods that are high in simple sugars usually offer little nutritional value and will add unwanted calories.

Choose foods moderate in salt and sodium. Remember that salt has been added to many foods during preparation or processing, so it's not necessary to add extra salt at the table.
You don't think it is slow, rather think you have much weight to lose.

I agree the slower you lose it the better. It is best to lose one to 2 pounds per weeks. IN the first few weeks of the diet it may come off faster. It takes time, but it is sure worth it.
I started the South Beach diet 7 weeks ago and I have lost 25 punds so far. 15 of them in the first 2 weeks (Phase 1) Phase 1 is difficult but after those first 2 weeks, it is really quite simple. It starts getting rid of belly fat right away too.

No! Why are you rushing your body? You have no idea what your body goes through when it rushes. Please stay away from diet pills, they destroy your internal organs. The reason why your body is at a stand still is because it has gotten used to the routine: Plateau. Change up lift weights, its very important to the body composition and bone longevity.
