Is losing 10 pounds in two weeks a realistic goal? And if so, what kind of exercises or cardio can I do?

Question:
Someone once told me that running or lifting weights using your legs won't be a great idea for losing weight because if you're someone who has a big butt with large thighs (which I am) then as soon as I stop running when I reached my goal, my butt and my thighs will turn back to be even larger than they were. That's why, I'm trying to stick to swimming, but swimming doesn't burn that much calories. I was wondering if anyone as any better cardio or exercises that doesn't cost money and that won't make my thighs and butt BIGGER when I stop exercising when I reach my goal.

Answers:
You're wrong: swimming burns A LOT of calories. And you can lose the 10 pounds in two weeks, but you'd have to starve yourself. Doctors and dieticians recommend a net weight loss of no more than 2 pounds per week. Anything else is considered unhealthy. Plus, if you lose that weight too quickly (such as, say, 10 pounds in two weeks), you're 75% more likely to gain it all back once you stop dieting than if you'd lost it in a healthy manner.

Running, swimming, and cycling are the three ideal types of cardio for losing weight. Running has always given me the best results, however. I used to have a big butt, too, but running shrank it, as well as my thighs. While it's true that runners often have larger, more muscular thigh muscles than swimmers, you must know that swimmers develop large, muscular shoulders.

I would say, do half and half. Do 20 minutes of jogging and then 20 minutes of swimming. There's your 40 minute workout. And, it's very cheap: all you need is a swimsuit, goggles, a shirt and shorts, and sneakers. Good luck!

The only way I know of to lose 10 lbs in 2 weeks is to get food poisening.

I have stopped eating until I reached a unhealthy 110 pounds once and I even skipped a few days not eat and I did not never lose 10 pounds in 2 weeks try about a month you could but not 2 weeks In my own personal experience walking was a very good way to lose weight. I always had very strong legs, but walking seemed to burn enough calories that they became lean and not "fatty".

Another problem that I personally have had a problem with is water weight. After my cancer treatments salty foods were one of my favorites because sweeter foods tasted funny. Salt makes a person retain water. You would be surprised how much "weight" you can lose just laying off foods that make you retain exess water.

Drinking plenty of water helps as well. It keeps your kidney's flushed (actually helping you rid yourself of exess water) Most people don't realize how many calories they gain by drinking pop, juices and other drinks that have sugars and empty calories.

Another reason something simply like walking is good, is because it's free and still something you can do even after you reach your goal. Which will improve your overall health, help you tone up and keep you from gaining your weight back.

yes you can if you get really serious about it . this is a plan im on and its fast
