Exercise Schedule?

Question:
i am a 16 year old male and now i am trying to add more muslce. i have been working out for about 6 months now. i do 3 full body workouts a week. i am wondering if i would get better results if i did 3 upper body and 3 lower body a week. i.e. monday- upper body tuesday- lower body....etc

Answers:
Yes, I think you'd be able to see more results. You may, though wind up doing too much for your lower body. My split is usually:
Day 1: chest Day 3: back Day 5: shoulders / traps Day 6: bi's and tri's. I don't do legs on account I do a tremendous amount of running and it bothers my knees. I am not too out of proportion, though and I don't take on mass easily since I run.

But yes, I think you'll see some results. Just be sure you up your calorie / protein to make up for your increased exertion.

Also, your full body workouts probably took quite a while. Be sure you limit your gym time to less than an hour. Anything more than that and you'll likely go into overtraining mode.

You may find it helpful to grab an issue or two of Muscle and Fitness magazine. They have a lot of good tips on training.

Good luck.

Not really, unless you extended each upper and lower body workout to be as long as your previous full body ones.
