what is the difference between calorie and kcal?
Question:
Answers:
kcal = kilocalorie
kilo = 'one thousand of' in the same way that 1000 metres is one kilometre.
Contrary to what an above answer said, you must divide the number of calories by 1000.
Example:
3 thousand calories = 3 kilocalories
(remember, kilo means 1000)
3700 calories = 3.7 kcal
2.8 kcal (now we times by a thousand, the reverse of dividing by one thousand) = 2800 calories.
Other Answers:
1000 cal make 1 kcal
calorie multiply by 1000 is equal to kcal
calorie is just a shortcut for kcal. Kcal = kilocalorie
a calorie is a unit of heat used to express da energy value of food. 1 pound of fat equals approximately 3,500 kcal. as da body functions, we use calories. as we eat, we gain calories. if one week we use up 3,500 more kcal dan we consume, we lose one pound. unfortunately da reverse is also true. do u get it?
