How many hours should I exercise total in one day?

Question:
I want to life weights for arms for 45 minutes
bike for 45 minutes
to abdominal exercises for 45 minutes
run for 45 minutes
.how many hours should I exercise total, each a different exercise in 45 minutes, maximum? You know, there is a certain thing called exercising anorexia and I don't want to get anywhere near that.

Answers:
You should alternate aerobic and weight exercises meaning one day do 1 -1/2 hour aerobics and the next day do weights. Abdominal can be done every day. If you are going to do cardio and weights in the same day always do weights before cardio to conserve energy. You cannot do the same muscle groups everyday or else your body will not be able to rebuild the muscle. Make sure you are getting enough water, carbs and proteins. Consult your doctor when starting any routine. You sound like you may be working out a little to much. Rest a little!

Other Answers:
2 hours

I think you are already at the point of "exercising anorexia". change all those 45s to 30s because I saw it on 20/20 dostors siad those were the optimal numbers

Well you should just cut down to like 30 to 35 minutes maybe but do what you want.

I did not see the 20/20 show but based on your exercise pattern you really do seem extreme. Take a more balanced account to exercising and don't be so hard on yourself. Ask yourself, what are my goals? And within comfortable limits have fun too.

about an hr a day is what i do i am overweight and im almost back into the 190s i do half hr of cardio you can mix it up or stay on one machine and then i do a half hr of weights and stretches Try your work out program for about two hours daily.
