are grapes good for you? I am trying to cut out mid day sweets and I wanted to know if grapes are a good supp

Question:
I am trying to cut out mid day sweets and I wanted to know if grapes are a good supplement. I go to the store and pick up some green and red grapes to snack on mid day rather than a trip to the snack machine. any input you can give would be great

Answers:
Fruit is definitely better than candy, but if you are watching calorie intake, some fruits are more caloric than others. Grapes can be deceivingly caloric. Apples, melons, oranges, and strawberries are lower in calories. But if it's between grapes and snack machine, definitely go for the grapes. I don't think red and green grapes differ much in calories either.

Other Answers:
Of course any time you cut out sweets and replace it with something healthier- grapes- it is a good thing. If you work somewhere that is hot, try freezing your grapes. They're really good that way.
Yes, grapes are better for you than a snickers or baby ruth. Try throwing in a small piece of boneless skinless fat-free chicken breast for good measure. Your body will appreciate the extra dose of protein with the grapes and will be satistied until your next meal.

Enjoy your results,

they're pretty high in sugar - so higher in calories .. but still better for you than a chocolate bar. and probably a good transition to a healthier diet - the sugar will keep you satisfied as you're trying to break the sweet habit.
