which is better yoga of pilates?

Question:
i wanna be more flexible and tone up my body

Answers:
This is a subjective question; it's going to depend on the answerer's opinion. But I'll try to give you some general answers.

There are so many yoga positions that you could practice it 7 days a week and STILL not do all of them. In other words, variety. Variety is important (to me) because I do tend to get bored with exercise.

From what I've seen of pilates, it's pretty much repetitive exercises. You do X # of leg lifts, then x# of crunches, etc. It does incorporate some yoga, but really, it's just repetitive motions.

I think yoga is fun, especially trying to figure out how to get into some of the postures! And then trying to get good at them.

I think yoga may be better for gaining flexibility, and it's possible that pilates may be better for toning. If you don't get bored to death and quit.

pilates
Pilates is a "combination" of stretches and yoga. Therefore, I don't know what's best; yet Pilates combines them. I took a Pilates class (10 weeks) a few years back and was AMAZED at how fast my body firmed and toned, and this was with missing three of the classes. I often do Yoga in the morning and combine it with some of the moves I learned in my Pilates class.

Yoga is wonderful; yet if you have to make a choice between the two, I suggest Pilates. You will never reget it! Peace and blessings.
Pilates tones the body, and builds lean (bulk-free) muscle. If you want to lose weight/build muscle and gain flexibility, practice pilates. You could try yoga, but it wouldn't be the most helpful in solving your problem areas.
