Yeah, the media used to make me frown upon my figure. however, I realized that compared to real people, I am just fine. I don't think that I'm "hot", but that's ok because I'm not overweight and the last thing I want is an eating disorder.

Yes, I do. I'm not fat, nor supermodel thin, but I have hips. Girls on TV dont. Models dont. Therefor its hard to find a pair of pants that fit =) Haha, I know I'll never be a supermodel, I'm somewhat happy with the way I am, but I know too many other girls that only try to live up to the magazine ads. It's not good atl all.
yes i do. i am 5'2 ,150lbs, 31 yrs old and i have 3 children yet i think i look like i weigh 240 lbs. i know in reality i dont really look like that but when i look in the mirror that is what i see and yes i blame it on society etc. or i could just be mental, who knows Yes I am fat, Despite my best efforts gym diet etc I even dabbled with diet pills however I still am bigger than most of my friends. and I am stronger than them but I wish I wern't build like a guy or something.
Yes, it's difficult when you're overweight and the media is promoting the 'thin' woman as ideal.Just diet, eat healthy and exercise because it's better for yourself. Make your inner person as attractive as posible. All that matter is that the man in your life tells you that he loves you just as you are.
This is an excellent question. I think we're all bombarded by images of media icons so much on a daily basis, that we're now programmed to feel bad about ourselves when we're "only normal". This is a major cause of anorexia and bulimia, especially in teenage girls.
I've recently lost 17 lbs. I weighed 150, but now weigh 133. I felt extremely bad about myself. I'm feeling better now, and will feel even better when I reach my goal of 120. I'm only 5'3", so this would be a very healthy weight for me. But because of the excessive occurrence of seeing images of very thin women - air-brushed images even - I always felt very disgusted with myself for weighing only 150. I saw a fat cow every time I looked in the mirror. I was only a size 12, and I felt this way. I'm still not very happy with my body, even though I'm only a size 10, and a healthy weight. I have a very hard time admitting this, but I am very dissatisfied with my body most of the time. I don't know why.I'm 25 years old and it's something I never had an issue with until I was 20 years old. At that point, I was very unhealthy in terms of eating habits and lack of exercise, so I started exercising and eating right and my weight continues to fluctuate radically despite those changes. Now, I'm at a fitness level where I can run 5 miles per day or do the elliptical machine for 45 minutes at a level 10 or 11 and instead of being in awe of all my body can do, I berate it for having hips too wide and a poochy stomach.
I think it has to do with femininity--for some reason, being in-shape makes me feel oafy when I'm around thin girls. I think it more has to do with the weird concept of feeling large and awkward in my HEAD rather than anyone thinking I am when they look at me. Everyone who thinks their fat and wants to lose weight:
