should i go to a chiroprocter for a lower back kink?

Question:
i work 12 hour shifts three times a week, mostly stay on my feet throughout. i know i need to work out and strengthen my abdominal muscles more, but for a short term solution, is it worth it to go to a chiroprocter? how much should it cost?

Answers:
Chiropractic treatments can become very expensive. I have taught dance for 30 years and find most back problems, tightness, soreness, can be alleviated by slow stretching.
Suggestions:
Sit on floor, bend knees with feet on floor, roll down the spine one vertebrae at a time.
Hug knees into chest, release.
Pull right knee into chest, hug it. Stretch leg out.
Repeat with left knee.
Hug right knee back to chest, With left hand, pull right knee across the body to floor on left side, release and let knee fall to floor on right side, straighten out leg.
Repeat this move slowly with opposite leg.
If you feel excruciating pain. stop.
Roll over on stomach, leave body on floor, place hands beneath shoulders on the floor and slowly push upward the chest off the floor until arms are as straight as you can get them.
Repeat 2-3 times.
Then roll back on back and hug knees.
Prior to getting up, roll to side, push up to sitting position, kneeling, stand, by putting one foot on floor, place hands on knee and slowly push up.

Good luck! This helps my tired back from standing all day at retail job, then going and teaching dance for 4 hours per day.

You could give it a try, but it's never an overnight fix with chiropractors. If you have a bit of a belly that is what's straining your back especially with all the standing you're doing. See the chiro, work on back exercises & skip the extra treats & you should be fine. Good Luck!!

its worth it going, i go to a chiropracter and he fixes everything so fast. If you have a kink in ur back u should definetly go. It depends on what chiropracter u go to for the cost. I would try getting massages and stretching yourself before committing yourself to seeing a chiropractor. I have heard that once you start seeing a chiropractor, it is a life long thing.

If you go, just be prepared for them to tell you you'll need to come in every week for 6 months. At $50 a visit.

First try stretching exercises, and place a plastic milk crate or something similar to that on the floor beside you while working, then periodically place your left/right foot atop the crate to relieve the pressure from your lower back muscles, the last thing you should do is go to a Chiropractor, for reason that many people suffer worse pain after they discontinue the chiropractic treatments, thus they become dependent on the treatments.
