Why did I get so fat all of a sudden?

Question:
I am 5'2, and up until about 4 months ago I weighed 105-110 pounds. I noticed that my clothes and jeans all felt tight lately, so I stepped on the scale- I weigh 124 lbs!! I can't believe it- I didn't even weigh 100 until I turned 14. And now that I'm 19, I geel like a cow. I can still get into most of my size 2 or 4 clothes, but it doesn't look as good. How do I get rid of all this weight ASAP? I don't know how I gained it, because I haven't changed my diet or exercise drastically...

Answers:
Aw dont feel so bad you arent exactly what i call "FAT" but maybe you are gaining because you are about to grow. Wait a while. Maybe you will have a growth spurt, and the extra weight will seem to disapear since, you know, will have grown. In the mean while, while you are waiting for this growth spurt, Go Shopping!!! You can get more clothes, and it is kind of some way of exercise. You know, walking all over the mall can be tiring! Wish you luck!

Other Answers:
go walking and stop snacking
Thyroid problem?
Do me a favor and shut the he-ll up. That is totally average for your height. Why would you be a moron and waste 5 points when EVERYONE asks about losing weight here. Go cry to your mother, please. Stop eating at fast food chains with the girls (don't deny it) and start eating a clean, balanced diet.
I sometimes ask myself that same question. Think about some of the things you've eaten. Some of that stuff packs on the pounds FAST!
i wouldn't wry about it!! i'm sure you still look fine!! plus, alota women look better with a few extra lbs. i myself have put on quite abit of weight too... but i've wanted to!! so yea... perhaps ttyl & quit worrying about your "gain"

peace erich.....
Check and see if your pregnant...

That usually puts on weight real quick :)

I wish you well..

Jesse
this is a fast weight loss program that you can try
You're PREGNANT! :O

No, really. I don't know.
do you eat twinkies? cuz I swear those things are like fat farms!
Underactive thyroid?
Do more. Eat less. And walk everyday.
You feel like a cow at 124 pounds?
Please. Get a life.
Size 2 & 4.
I don't even want to hear it.
Get real.
Either you eat too much or your metabolism started slowing down because you are not active enough. You might have a serious problem that needs to be checked on by a doctor.
Size 2 and 4. Oh yeah, you're a cow. Get real! Just diet and lose a few pounds.
Did you grow a large pair of appendages by any chance?
Your probably filling out. Your hips are widening. Its not a problem.

You don't have tons of esxtra weight. Just make sure you are eating a balanced diet. Don't go to fast food places and don't drink pop or other junk with corn syrup in it. (Diet pop is just as bad).
Push yourself away from the table after the 3rd helping of food and also take a pregnancy test.
Are you partying more than you used to? Alcohol packs on the weight quickly when you're not thinking about it. Most people don't stop to consider how many calories they're consuming in every drink!
uhmmm . . . Pregnant?

Someone's feeding you Snickers in your sleep?

Try drinking at least 4 quarts of water each day, eating only 800 calories, and walking two miles. In three days, you'll lose three pounds. That will give you incentive to be careful about eating and getting enough exercise in a reasonable pattern.
Because you're not 14 anymore. As you get older your metabolism slows and you can't eat the same way you did when you were younger. I wish I weighed 124 lbs again!! Just need to work at losing it by eating a better balanced meal and exercising more.
Go to a doctor. You may very well have an underactive tyroid. That can be fixed with medication. Other then that, exercise more. Walk, run, lift weights, etc. Stop eating unhealth foods like fast food and junk food. Try and eat whole wheat products and read the food labels. Watch what you eat but dont go over board.
I know you may think you're fat, but you're at the 48th percentile of your age and weight which means your HEALTHY. If you still want to lose weight, start some cardio. Start by running 1/4 of a mile every day, then go up to 1/2, and then go a full mile. You'll start to see pounds drop. Also, try to limit carbs and go for more protien and of course fruits and vegetables.
I would ask you doctor to check your thyroid. I know people that have experienced your same situation so they went on diets and such but continued to gain weight. They later found out they had thyroid problems and were able to treat it and get back to normal. Just an idea :)
Oh my god!Stop whining because you GAINED a couple pounds. You should be thankful you are a size 2 and 4..Att he age of 19, you should be 120-140lbs
that happens to me a lot....... its not u .. trust me...... unless you felt a huge urge to eat sweets.... but if u want to help it...... just try to get on a diet... but its not ur fault
wow you sure are fat i don't even want to know what you look like if you were say 137
please stop worrying you are just fine but maybe your pregnant now there's something to worry about
If you're 19 now, does that mean you're in college now? The freshman 15 is not a myth-- when you leave high school and start college, your eating and exercise habits change, even if you don't realize it. Even small changes can add up over time. The best way to get rid of it is to watch what you eat more closely, and exercise more.
I understand because you have gained 15-20lb, that it might be making you feel unhappy, because it's quite a large gain in 4 months, however 124lb is not fat for your height. And if you can still get in to size 2-4's I would worry too much.

Just eat healthily, get plenty of exercise and you should soon see the inches and pounds drop off. But don't obsess about being 105-110lb, maybe somewhere in the middle like 115-120lb would be great, considering you are now a grown woman and not an adolescent anymore. It's normal to gain a few pounds as you enter adulthood. HTH.
