Can lifting dumbbells grow too much muscle on a girl' s arms and make her look unfeminine?

Question:

Answers:
No. Women are often afraid that lifting will cause them to gain too much muscle, but it's not really a concern for most of them. Men produce much more testosterone than women do, allowing us to build muscle much more easily than women. The large and grotesque professional female body builders you see take steriods to grow the muscles they have.

Other Answers:
not if u just tone your arms instead of bulking unless u want to be a body builder
No. Women's bodies develop differently than men's.

I heart the gym!
yes, lifting dumbbells can make a girl's arms look unfeminine ONLY IF:

1. you are a genetic freak (very unlikely, as that's only 0.13 percent of the population)
2. you are taking steroids
3. you are spending 6 hours daily in the gym

This is a common concern for women, and it's just not true. Lifting weights bulks up men, because they have testosterone. When females lift heavy weights, it just "tones" them, since they have 8-10 times less testosterone than men. So really, you don't have to lift little, barbie dumbbells, being afraid that you'll get "too big". Don't be afraid to lift heavy.

If you use too much resistance, yes. If you don't use much resistance and use high reps, it will define and shape your muscle.
Not likely.

I've seen one girl in the gym that has manly arms - but she is cut like a bodybuilder and looks unfeminine everywhere. Kind of scary looking.

I lift lighter weights with more reps to build toned arms.
Use lighter weights!
