Is it common to wear clothes in a swimming pool?
Question:
Answers:
I used to be a competitive swimmer, and during some training sessions we had to wear multiple layers. They essentially create "drag" which increases resistance. Weight is offset by buoyancy, so to increase the resistance in water, you add clothes. Sweatpants/shirts absorb a lot of water, thus add a fair amount of resistance to a work out. While I'll admit, I haven't seen the aquacise classes apply this technique, it does come from sound water based training principles.

No. That is not common. It is very weird.
ONLY ANIMALS DON'T DO THAT that's crazy I've heard seen a tee shirt over a bathing suit but sweat pants and a shirt thats to much!!
No I never seen that I thought you was only to wear swim suit and that seem a little unclean
they might do it so its heavier items on them.. kinda like putting weights on..
or maybe they dont want to be in there in swim wear.
No it's not, but sometimes I wear socks when I am swimming cause it feels funny. When I was a teenager I was friends with this girl and she had a pool. Every girl who went over to her house was required to swim in a full length shirt and short that touched the knees. It was their religious belief, I think they were Holiness or Primitive Baptist.
If the whole class was doing it, maybe they were told to wear clothes. The clothes would make the aerobics harder with lots of extra resistance. Either that, or they decided to go into the pool at the last minute and no one had a swimsuit!
Yea, it makes them comfortable.
I've seen self-concious people wearing a T shirt or shorts, but not heavier clothes. if they had a body like mine , they wouldn't be in the pool with clothes
