why does this happen: i jog for about 10 minutes, walk for about 3,then feel heavy once i start running again?

Question:
Why do i feel sluggish/heavy afterwards walking for a bit??

Answers:
When you are walking, your muscles have gotten used to contracting and flexing just a set amount, to support your weight. When you transition into running again, those muscles have to support your weight while contracting and flexing while propelling you from one step to the next. Your muscles were used to a certain amount of oxygen from the walking, but running makes the muscles use more oxygen. This quick transition will leave your muscles feeling a little tired at the beginning, but once you start breathing well enough for running and your muscles are warmed up again, you should be better.
Good luck! If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask!

Are you just starting this program? If you are, this is totally normal, you feel heavy sluggish, because you are heavy and sluggish! lol I remember being overweight and I too, did a program like this, I thought I'd never felt worse, but it gets better as soon as some of the weight comes off. You won't feel so heavy and sluggish during the walk, you'll actually look forward to the run again. Hang in there!

Your body has build up lactic acid in the muscles because of decreased aerobic capacity caused by not being in shape for the activity. Try not dropping all the way down to walking or try starting off slower. Keep the muscles more active continually so that your body gets used to the need for more energy but keep it at a pace your body can handle. rhytm changes! Try jogging a nit slower continuously
