I take Warfarin 5mg. My INR is stable-2.5, but I am an active athlete?

Question:
I wonder if the thinned blood affects athletic performance

Answers:
Warfarin "thins" blood in the sense that it will clot less easily. It does not affect oxygen carrying capacity, so no effects on stamina or strength.
If you are in a contact sport I'd suggest a hefty Vitamin C supplement. Vit C will help keep connective tissue strong... what this means in contact sports is that blood vessel walls will be less likely to be damaged or crushed on hard contact (which results in a bruise as some blood leaks from the damaged vessel into the surrounding tissue). Increased bruising is a risk even with carefully monitored anticoagulation therapy, so extra Vit C (say 500-1000mg a day) is a cheap and safe way to avoid excess bruising.
