Can a compulsive over-eater cure themselves? If so how?

Question:

Answers:
It's really easy when you at home:)
Just put pictures of supermodels from magazines on your fridge and pantry so each time you will go to grab something you'll look at those pictures and feel that it's time for you to stop eating and care about your figure. Also start cooking on your own first of all you'll start eating helthier and you won't feel as hungry when you cooking.
And the main rule never eat in front of TV(if you can't quit right away than eat only raw vegetables and drink lots of water) or after 7PM(to break that habbit my friend started wearing her bikini after 7PM, she said it helped a lot she didn't feel like eating while wearing almost nothing).
Sounds silly but actually works for a lot of people who doesn't have will power.
Good Luck.
P.S. it's up to you to find the way how to make your self beautiful.

just gotta have the will power

I use to do that all the time. I taught myself to eat what I served myself then wait 10 mintues.. you MUST wait.. it takes 10 minutes for your brain to tell your body you are full.
then, if I'm still hungry, I'll get a little more and wait again

I find that whenever I got hungry, drinking a cold glass of water or maybe two, would drive of the cravings for another 15-20 minutes If you believe in behavior or "cognitive therapy" you might want to try (or suggest) behavior modification. For instance, exercising even moderately will often serve to curb appetite. Also, putting up pictures of yourself when you were more buff on the refrigerator may work. Get lots of sleep, eat better nutritous food, never eat junk food and drink lots of water.

Or, go a therapist and spend thousands to find out what it is that's missing in your life that you need to satisfy with food.

Good luck.

Honestly any eating disorder is very hard. I have struggled with anorexia now for over 10 years. I have had the help of my dietitian and it helps me a lot. If you have health insurance, most programs will pay for you to see a dietitian. You should check it out. Good Luck!

I believe that there is no miracle cure but to arrest this addiction, one day at a time, look into the 12 steps of over eaters anonymous. you have to have will power if not you will need to go to a psychologist to get the help
