Yerba Mate?

Question:

I have been drinking this herb called Yerba Mate. It is in tea form. I wanted to know if anyone knows anything about this herb. Are there side effects to using it? Is it addictive? You can only find it in vitamin stores. It is amazing, but I just want to make sure it is safe.

Don't worry. they have it on some Sobe drinks too. In Brazil, they sell it everywhere! It's the equivalent of ice tea in the U.S.

It has caffeine, maybe that's why you only find it in such stores here.

Researches have found that it helps fight cancer, and its negative effects are the same of coffee and teas.

This is an herbal tea they drink like water down in Uruguay and other parts of South America. It's been drunk down there for generations and there don't seem to be any negative side effects or anything. I've had it while traveling down there on business, and personally I don't like the taste, but it should be pretty safe.

It is from Argentina.. My mom is from there.
As far as I know, the only bad thing about it is that it has a lot of caffeine in it - kinda like coffee.
