how to increase my metabolism? so that if i just brisk walk, or do simple exercise, the calorie will burn more

Question:
I'm tired doing activities yet nothing much contributes to my calorie-burn-process. While others with similiar size, only do simple activity & burn more than me and getting faster result. Helppp!

Answers:
1. eat smaller portions more often.basically don't let yourself feel hungry. if your body feels hunger, metabolism will slow down (your body's way of adapting to the fact it doesn't have food.survival mechanism).

2. exercise! working out or doing cardio for an hour will throw your metabolism into overdrive for a few hours. let's say you burn 300-400 calories in an hour exercising.your body will think that you need LOTS of energy so it will burn pretty everything it can for energy. this is probably the best way to boost metabolism. of course you gotta eat if you workout or else your body will just break itself down.

plus, having more muscle causes your body to burn more calories just to maintain them.for example, you will burn more calories walking if you have larger leg muscles since it takes more energy to operate them.

Other Answers:
they say if you eat smaller and more meals like every few hours you can do just that

I was told that if you add "tabasco sauce" or any kind of chili's or peppers in your diet, this will speed up your metabolism. Yes, the more you exercise and the "harder" you exercise, the more your metabolism will increase. One of the best ways to do this is through swimming which burns more calories per hour than walking & jogging. Plus, it's fun & it doesn't feel like exercise & you don't sweat.

It may take a little while. Keep going at it, and choose an activity that you will love, whether swimming, running, martial arts, dancing.

some peoples metabolism's are very different. What works for others may not work for your body type. There are some simple things that you can change to help to elevate your metabolism.
First try eating smaller meals throughout the day. Instead of 3 large meals. Eat 5 or 6 smaller ones. That will keep your metabolism going and your body will constantly be burning calories. Second, try to change up your exercise routine, the body adjusts quickly. Go longer, make it more intense, or try something new. I hope this can help you, Good Luck!!

Hi there, there are a few ways to increase your metabolism that don't require too much physical exertion. You are right, some exercise is definitely needed 3-4x week as this also tones your body inside and out along with general health and wellbeing. After exercise, try eating something light within the first hour so so that your body doesn't go into hunger phase. Drink lots of water. Also, eating foods with more bite to it (try adding some chopped chilli's to stirfrys, ginger etc) will help speed up the metabolism. I find that drinking hot water with lemon and lime pieces works well for me to start the day - fills me so that I don't then eat a huge breakfast or second breakfast (trust me - I'm a big eater!). Also, if you have access to it, regular use of a steam room/sauna helps detox the body through perspiration of the skin and if you have access to use a hydro pool this also works your muscles thereby increasing tone and circulation. I hope this helps. Be well.
