Question:
My wedding is in 24 days! (July 29th) and my dress is a little snug. It will fit well if I take off about 10lbs, but I want it to look exceptional! if I lost 15-20lbs, I would feel perfect! How can I do this in such a short time! How much weight is reasonable to lose in 24 days!?

Answers:
Be your own trainer and nutritionist, the basic rules to losing weight are no soda, no fast food, lots of chicken, fish, fresh (not canned that’s bad) fruits and vegies, whole wheat stuff, yogurt. Not so many cakes and donuts and cookies. Basic common sense for eating, you just need to enforce it. Get all the bad stuff out of the house right away, just toss it or give it away while your still motivated. No alcohol and no smoking if that applies. Lots of water, 3-4 liters a day, not all at once, but spread it out. Its really easy to down a liter or two while your watching tv or on the computer. Also drink some after you eat the bigger meals of the day, it helps your body pick out the nutrients in food when your food is more spread apart. Don’t think that sports drinks can replace water, the only time you need to drink them right after a workout, besides that just stick with water. These rules may be hard to adapt to at first so start with cutting out the things you know you can live without. Then work from there. Remember these are perfect eating habits, it can take you a while to work into it. If you know you can’t live without your one treat a day, don’t fight it by trying to eat something else, just eat it and make sure that’s the only one you cheat on a day. Otherwise you’ll get depressed and quit. Another important point is getting the right amount of sleep every night. You need 8-9 hours of sleep each night for your body to function correctly. This is an important factor of losing weight. Set up a routine for yourself and go to bed at about the same time each night.
As for exercise, lots of cardio. Find something you like. If you have never exercised much before, start with walking 30 minutes a day at a brisk pace. Move on to different terrains that include hills and increase the time spent. After a week or two, try jogging the route. No matter what find an activity you enjoy. Walking to jogging is just an example, try hiking, rollerblading, biking. Once you get into a regular routine, if your not happy with the level of difficulty, try signing up with a gym. Spinning, pilates or kickboxing classes are great. It will also introduce you to working with weights. Talk to a trainer for instruction before using any weights. A cheap investment is a balance ball, it works you stomach while your just sitting on it, like at your computer and its great for posture. There are hundreds of exercises you can use it for for your entire body. I can give you some ideas if you want, just email me. Well, I think 1-3 lbs a week is safe. That would be like a max. of 10 lbs. I would just exercise like crazy and stop snacking and eating after about 7 pm. Eat smart with lots of veggies and fruit and cut out fried and greasy foods. Good luck.

exercise everyday, eat healthy foods, stay away from candy and chocolates and fatty stuff. drink water regularly. If you really start excercising and eating salads, you might drop 5 or 10 pounds in that time. Depends on what you weigh now though. If you are already fairly slim, your body will resist losing extra pounds. If you have a lot that could come off, it is easily possible to lose 1 pound a day. Takes a lot of discipline though!

1) Drink lots and lots of water. The more water you drink, the less you retain.

2) Create a calorie deficit. Losing weight is mathematic. Track all the calories you consume and all the calories you burn (you can find websites to help you count calories burned). 3500 calories = one pound. It is not too hard to create a 3500-calorie deficit in one day! You even burn calories when you sleep (just not as many). Just keep your calorie intake around 1000 calories per day and make sure you exercise aerobically for AT LEAST an hour a day.

3) Take a multi-vitamin. Your body will not respond as well to a low-calorie diet if you don't.

Beware of empty calories (soft drinks are the worst!) Good luck!

Write down everything you put in your mouth and cut your portions in half. Get some dried fruit and eat them for in between meal snacks. Eat a bowl of cereal (small) for an evening snack instead of junk food. Don't eat anything after 7 p.m. Keep moving and put a pedometer on to make sure you walk around the house or around the office or to the office or anywhere, at least 3 miles a day. Put on your favorite dancing music and dance, dance, dance. You're getting married and it's a wonderful world! excercise!!

you could try the induction phase for the south beach diet or atkins they do work!
also drink a lot of water! the induction phase is only 2 weeks long and you should drop 8-14 lbs.
but u have to follow the diet to "T"
