This sounds like what I have been doing. I have been drinking more water and less cola. Also I have been eating yogurt to help the flora in my stomach. Good luck.
You don't need tetracycline (antibiotics). You need a GI doctor who can make a diagnosis.
Personally, it sounds to me like you have gastric reflux. The sour taste in your mouth was a tip-off. Does it feel like your mouth or back of throat is full of acid that is burning you? If so, it's probably gastric reflux and you need an acid-blocker like Zantac, Tagamet, Pepcid, or even Rx meds like Prevacid or Nexium. In the meantime, use an antacid liek Maalox or Mylanta, Tums, or Rolaids.
But you should see a doc since it's gone on this long and you're losing weight. Find a gastroenterologist (GI specialist) or an internist (adult generalist).
Best wishes!
