What is the average number of CALORIES one should consume each day?

Question:

Answers:
Most people probably consume around 2200 calories a day, but it could be different for you depending on your age, weight, height, and activity level. For example, an 18-year-old girl who sits around all day and doesn't exercise would probably need around 1900 calories, while a female athlete who exercises an hour or more per day would need 2700-3000 calories a day. Men need even more than that. Ask your doctor if you're really curious. He or she would be able to calculate the most accurate number.

Most doctors state that a 2000 calorie diet is preferable, but for better information, see a dietitian for your specific daily suggested caloric intake.

Well, it depends on your activity level, height, gender, and many other facotrs. But, I guess if you are say, 5'3 and 150 pounds, mildly active, female and medium build, you should consume around 2000 calories to stay the same weight, 1500 to lose a pound or two a week. It all depends on you. The most common calorie intake is 2,000 calorie diet but thats to remain the same wieght. Less if you are trying to lose.

I'm trying to get 5000 a day.
