What is the best brand of mens walking shoes for wide feet, and why? (tennis shoes)?

I have trouble picking out the best shoes for walking. I wear a size 8 - 8 1/2 in mens depending on the shoe. Plus, it has to be wide width. Sometimes I don't think shoe makers make shoes wide enough. I can never even find dress shoes that are wide enough, and comfortable.

I can relate! I wear 8 1/2 WWW and it is next to impossible to find shoes. I buy New Balance running shoes
I have Rockport lace up shoes
and Florsheim slip ons
I get them at Shoe Carnival.

the issue is not really the brand.

it is how your feet interact with the shoe - like, does your foot lean in or out when you walk?

it would be best to go to a shoe store that specializes in running/walking shoes ( they will have wide sizes). they should have specialists that have you try several pairs, and they watch you walk, to see what works best for you.

If they start by asking you what color shoe do you want, you are in the wrong store. Brooks/New Balance
