Whats the difference between Vegitarian and Vegan?

Question:

Answers:
A Vegan doesn't eat any kind of meat or animal product (chocolate, ice cream, milk, cheese, yougurt, cookies, etc. unless specially created like soy milk). A vegitarian just doesn't eat some of that stuff. Usually it's that they just son't eat meat. However, some Vegetarians will still eat fish or chicken, others just one kind of meat, or they only occasionly eat chicken or something.

Other Answers:
Vegans are from the planet Vega and Vegetarians don't eat meat

Vegans eat absolutely no animal products.

Vegetarians usually define themselves as eating "nothing with a face". Some don't eat red meat; some eat no meat at all. It's a pretty broad definition.

tarian Vegetarians may eat dairy products and eggs just no meat.
Vegans eat no animal products at all - no meat, eggs or dairy.

Don't even get me started on this subject.lol one is wacked the other is completly wacked

Vegitarians are gay, vegans are even more gay

Vegans and vegetarians both do not eat meat. Vegans also stay away from anythng that comes from animals including eggs, dairy products, geletin, marshmallows(because they use geletin to make them)--anything that uses animals or parts of animals to produce. Hope that helps.

A vegan eats no animal products including eggs and dairy. They also have to be careful of added ingredients in prepared foods, you'd be surprised what foods animals products are found in, such as jell-o, chewing gum, gummie bears..
There are different types of vegetarians. Lacto-ovo vegetarians don't eat any meat, but do eat eggs and dairy. Pesce-vegetarian eat fish also. Some people also include other subtypes of vegetarians, but I really don't consider them vegetarian at all since they do eat meat, at least on occasion, so I won't even mention them. I know I didn't go into much detail, but I hope this helped some. If you want some more information you can check out this site. www.goveg.com Vegan is actually a form of vegitarianism.

There are four main types of vegitariamism as follows;

* 1) Lacto-Ovo Vegetarian: does not eat meat, fish or fowl. Eats dairy and egg products.
* 2) Ovo Vegetarian: does not eat meat, fish, fowl or dairy products. Eats egg products.
* 3) Lacto Vegetarian: does not eat meat, fish, fowl or eggs. Eats dairy products.
* 4) Vegan: does not eat any animal products including meat, fish, fowl, eggs, dairy, honey, etc. Most vegans do not use any animal products such as silk, leather, wool, etc. as well.

Many people have different reasons for limiting their diet- some might be health conscious, some might be allergic to certain types of foods. But something that should be mentioned is that Veganism is a very extreme form of vegitarianism. usually because of political views.

Veganism goes beyond just food.. it also means living a lifestyle that will not harm the environment or animals. More than anything vegans are hell bent on limiting the suffering of animals- which is admirable but considered radical by others.

"People choose to be vegan for health, environmental, and/or ethical reasons. For example, some vegans feel that one promotes the meat industry by consuming eggs and dairy products. That is, once dairy cows or egg-laying chickens are too old to be productive, they are often sold as meat; and since male calves do not produce milk, they usually are raised for veal or other products. Some people avoid these items because of conditions associated with their production.

Many vegans choose this lifestyle to promote a more humane and caring world. They know they are not perfect, but believe they have a responsibility to try to do their best, while not being judgmental of others. "

"Among the many reasons for being a vegetarian are health, ecological, and religious concerns, dislike of meat, compassion for animals, belief in non-violence, and economics.

People often become vegetarian for one reason, be it health, religion, or animal rights, and later adopt some of the other reasons as well."

So you see, vegans are vegitarians- but a more extreme radical type. But I will say that vegan popcorn, with flaxseed oil and some spices.. awesome.
