can the microwave alter the nutrition facts of a food?

Question:
Okk, some people say that the microwave can alter the nutrition facts of the food you heat in it, is that true? Can it increase the calories in the food? or kill the nutrients in it? Please somebody who knows about this tell me!!

Answers:
In vegetables, cooking in the microwave AND stovetop can kill the nutrients. If boiling say, you lose vitamins in the water. This is why they say to steam in the microwave and pot.

Other Answers:
it cannot increase tha cal. but idon't know if it is harmfull for you.
the microwave is a mysterious device that uses special waves to vibrate your food at such a high rate that it cooks itself. I think that's spooky. I'll probably glow in the dark when I die.
It can alter the nutrition facts, just like boiling or frying can. And it is dangerous to use plastic dishes in the microwave as well. Use glass instead. And if you are worried about nutrients, eat veggies raw. Ask a nutritionist for specifics.
That's an interesting question. Something I've never thought about.

I do know it can alter blood chemistry. I heard a story once that someone warmed up blood for a patient recipient using the microwave. The patient died sometime later on. I don't know if that's a false story, but it makes me wonder what all the microwave does to our own chemistry when we eat microwaved food.
