How to stop overeating?

Question:
You know how everyone has a portion that is right for them? It seems like my portion control sensor doesn't work very well, and I eat too much. Any tips on how to stop overeating?

Answers:
Have a time line on when to stop eating and drink plenty of water. Water can fill you up quickly, and if you drink a lot of it, you will be too full to actually eat any, if, all of your dinner.
Like, for example, I do not eat anything past 8 o'clock. only a couple of times I have had to break this rule, and that was because it has been 6 hours since I have had anyting to eat. So, I had to eat so I would not go to bed hungry, which is not good.
But, other then that, 8 is the last time I eat. By that time, I am already had my dinner and a little dessert. If I am still hungary, then I drink some water until that fills me up.

Get a hobby dont sit idle drink lots of water when you feel hungry trys some weight loss diets on this site
Have someone else prepare your portion for you. Tell them to give you less. If you are still hungry drink water.
Practice yoga or any relaxing activity , swimming also serves.
Eat naked in front of a mirror. That outta do it.
For me, I drink LOTS of water(like two or three full glasses) while eating. That way, I fill up quicker. You can drink as much water as you want and it wont add anything calorie wise.
Drink like a ton of water a day. This will fill you up some. Also keep yourself as busy as possible. Most people tend to overeat when they are just sitting and watching tv so get up and get active. You'll be suprised at how little you will think of food!
Good luck!
You my dear are going to have to CONTROL what YOU put on YOUR plate !
Try to take responsibility yourself for what you are eating, and go from there, your 'portion control sensor' is POWERED by YOU !

GOOD LUCK!
Haha I have the same problem. I'm not fat, but I have a feeling i will be if I keep this up.

Have someone prepare the portion for you.

Or, eat more smaller meals a day, not big ones a few times a day. That's what I'm trying and it's working.
Before a meal try drinking a glass of water. That will make you feel full. Whenever you feel hungry, drink a glass of water. Besides, water is very good for your body and skin. It's a win-win situation.
Have you considered the possibility that it's emotionally triggered?

Emotional overeating protects people from tension and worries. As strange as it may seem, emotional overeating can be calming; it "works", at least in the short run. And that is why it is a difficult cycle to break. The emotional facts are that it is often easier and less upsetting to be angry at yourself then it is to be tense upset or angry at an important person in your life.

Often, an upset feeling can be transferred into emotional overeating. Through the distraction of food, repetitive chewing and swallowing, and obsessive food thoughts, intense feelings are redirected into overeating behavior. These behaviors tend to be psychologically safer than confrontations with a loved one which might cause conflict, arguments, disharmony or withdrawal.

So how do you stop?

Record the emotional overeating episode in a journal
Find and record the situations and interactions that directly preceded it
Feel the feelings associated with each preceding interaction until you discover the emotional cause of the overeating.
Permit yourself to be upset about your feelings to the person or the situation
Consider directly expressing your feelings to the person or about the situation
Choose an alternative behavior to overeating (writing, exercise, swimming, painting, long bath, any hobby)
Hoodia, or products that contain "real" hoodia have been proven to suppress appetite. I use Hoodia-Pure, or when I want something sweet, Power-Pops.
In my opinion,,,fibre makes you feel full. Start a diet high in fibre(35 grams/day) along side with reducing pork, cow, and other hormone injected animals. The 'lentil' is the answer. Just read the facts about it. Read up on colonic irrigations,, get it done ;purify your colon and all your eating troubles will melt away. Remember all the foods these days the government has purposely altered to have less fibre....so you eat more..long story short,,,fibre is divine. and cures eating disorders and diseases.
I promise you this will work!
