Well first off, if you are in a lot of pain, you should see your dr. He/she may know of some exercises you could do that wouldn't cause you pain.
Also, Denise Austin isn't too bad. Yea you get a work out, but you wouldn't have to do everything.
Good Luck

Try some exercises mentioned on this site which would help you
strengthen your back while exercising - dont use the back excuse to get out of exercise - no other way except surgery and that is a temporary fix
I ma in that age too and the stomach thing is tuff. But I also have lower back problems and I use an exercise ball that seems to relive the pain in my back because I am supported by the ball which is air. It takes to get use to exercising with the ball becaue of balance but it works.
Remember the original crunch...don't do it. Keep your back on the floor, put your hands under your lower back, for support. and then raise and lower your legs to work your abdomen.
Very few exercises will actually reduce your waist size..it can tone it but eventually continued exercises will increase the muscle mass...one must diet to reduce your waist line...but diet alone is most effective with exercise...does not have to be exercises that are focused on your stomach, but exercises that burn calories...with lower back pain I recommend, anything low impact...swimming is on the top of that list...stationary bicycle, treadmill if you can handle that...good luck.
hi, 50 is the prime age, lower back pain should not make you old, rather of 50 years age, to my view the best medication for stomach is drinking excessive water, apart from exercise, medication, fell young and have fun, enjoy.
Always exercise your front and back evenly - stomach 50%, back 50%. Look for exercises and equipment that are low-impact. These include a rebounder and exercise ball. You may want to consider a reduction of weight via diet (eating habits) as well.
If you do sit-ups, ROM, or range of motion, is much less important than actual focus of work. In other words, don't bother trying to yank yourself all the way up to your knees. You could do more damage and get less effect. Relax your arms, aim your nose to the sky (head back), and lift your upper body several inches from the ground (don't curl up, lift up). You should feel your stomach crunching as well as, or better than, traditional sit-ups.
Turn over and do several straight-arm, straight-leg lifts while on your stomach (raise up until only your torso is on the floor). This is for strengthening the back.
Always stretch it out after exercise!
Good luck to you.
Try a cleansing diet! I did and lost 10.5 pounds and 17 inches in only 9 days. I was very happy with the results and continued on the program and lost 25 pounds in 5 weeks. This is the fastest I have ever lost with other diets like Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, Medifast, Slimfast etc…. Cleansing works by removing toxins from your body. You get toxins from your food (pesticides, preservatives, food additives, colorings) water, chemicals, pollution, medications, alcohol, hormones that the animals you eat were fed etc….YUCK! The toxins get coated with fat and remain in your body. To remove the fat, you have to remove the toxins. This system worked for me, maybe it can work for you too. You can check out the website or call this toll free number 1-877-587-4647 for more info. The program is not cheap, but it is worth every penny since it works and keeps you motivated. Good luck! I lost 5.5 inches off my waist!
