Answers:
So you want to lose/gain/maintain weight by losing fat and gaining and toning muscle! It's really not that hard. You adopt a good diet that contains enough calories to support your target weight, you engage in healthy exercise, you get adequate rest, and like magic, over a few months you have a healthy, trim body.

I personally prefer weight training, but for some that's not viable. There are many form of aerobic exercise, and properly done, all will produce a beneficial effect.

Check out the brief articles on: http://www.catfangz.com/diet/ then do some research. http://www.exrx.net/ has some excellent articles on training techniques.
