Can codeine slow your metabolism, contributing to weight gain?
Question:
Answers:
I had a Dr. tell my mother that all painkillers will slow your digestion slightly and therefore can slow your metabolism. If you are concerned about it, eat foods that boost your metabolism and exercise a little more, within reason. Whatever you are taking codeine for, obviously you would exercise in a way that doesn't contribute to that. :) There are also yoga moves known to boost metabolism so you can do that while you are taking pain medications.

no i dont think so
Just the opposite. That is why it is called the Jenny Crank diet.
there is no medical proof that codeine causes weight gain but it can become a very adictive drug I know I have been there and coming down from a codeine dependancy is much like coming of speed so I would advise to be very careful with it I never put anyweight on using it but I would never advise anyone to take the drug with out medical advise first. NO! It may make you constipated though

If you can manage to do a consistent workout 4-6 days a week with your cardio, you will lose weight. However I doubt that this would be realistic, because the codeine is a "downer" and will keep you so tired, you won't have the get up and go, to go do it! Why are you on codeine? Ugh, get off of that stuff as soon as you can, it's is brutal.
