Are you overweight? You probably have mild shin splints. Remember, pain is weakness leaving the body.
Other Answers:
Stop walking.
rest
Stop walking if you are in pain. Do some warm-up exercise and rest. If the pain continues, find a physical therapist.
Depends on what kind of pain you are feeling.

Swimming is the best low impact exercize
my did the same thing lay down and put some ice on it go to sleep and it will feel better
What is the pain like? Is there any swelling im your ankles? I have experienced pain in the ankles in the past year that turned out to be nothing....I agree with the Advil or other NSAID to relieve the inflammation and pain; however; if the pain persits, I would recommend ACE wrapping them or using neoprene ankle braces as they trap in heat to help promote healing. Hope this helps you!!
maybe you should keep on walking and and just keep on moving them and the pain might go away -try it
get high top walking shoes for more support.
I am a personal trainer and my first question would be if you ever had any type of injuries before whether it was your ankles, knees or hips! If not then I would ask you to stand up straight look at you r feet and see if you have an external rotation or your feet point outwards. Yup you do! I say this in confidence cause roughly 95%of people have this. If its bothering you then I would guess you have already developed a flat foot which will bring discomfort with it. How do you fix this you ask? Well theres self-myofascial rolling, which is to complicated to get into, but you can simply stretch the calve muscle for 45 seconds threw out the day. And be aware of your feet try to walk straight it will feel uncomfortable but eventually will be natural....good luck!!
to be on the safe side you might wanta see a doctor ... depending on your age, it could be that your body just is not used to it... do a good stretch before you start out, maybe slow the pace a bit and cut the distance for now ... then slowly increase pace and distance so that your body has a chance to build itself up.. .good luck
Get a mold made of your feet and put it inside the shoes for walking. This method has made my walking totally painless and very comfortable.
YOU NEED SHOES THAT HAVE BETTER OUTER AND INSOLES TO ABSORB THE SHOCK. YOU CAN ALSO PAY ATTENTION TO HOW YOU WALK, IE. HOW HARD YOU'RE HITTING THE GROUND WHEN YOUR FOOT COMES DOWN. DOING A LITTLE WARM UP WILL ALSO HELP. YOU COULD POSSIBLY TAKE GLUCOSAMINE, IT WILL HELP YOUR JOINTS. YOU CAN ASK ABOUT IT IN A WALL MART OR DRUG STORE BUT IT'S GREAT, YOU CAN GET OVER THE COUNTER. I TAKE IT BECAUSE I HAVE A BAD KNEE AND IT WORKS WONDERS FOR ME, I DO A LOT OF WALKING. TAKE IT EASY AND MAYBE SLOW THE SPEED AND SHORTEN THE DISTANCE YOU'RE WALKING FOR AWHILE. PUTTING A COLD PACK ON THEM FOR A FEW MINUTES AFTER WALKING MIGHT HELP, TOO. IT WILL GET BETTER IF YOU GIVE A LITTLE TIME, IF NOT SEE A DOC. I DON'T KNOW IF YOU WILL BE INTERESTED IN ANY OF THIS BUT IT'S A FEW IDEAS ANYWAY.... HOPE YOU GET BETTER!
seems like your pushing your body to much you should start out slow with about 20 minutes of walking and about 2-3 weeks later add ten minutes and so on until you work your way up to an hour
