If you go on a really low calorie diet and lose muscle can you ever get that, or your metabolism, back?

Question:
I mean.. if you lose your muscles and your metabolism slows down is there any way to get it back where it was before you dieted?

Answers:
Of course you can get it back. It's all up to you. Remember the key to raising metabolism is by eating several small meals a day and exercise and resistance training. People sometimes think that to lose weight you need to stop eating, but the less you eat the more your metabolism slows down. Remember the good old food pyramid as a guide.

Other Answers:
Yep, just start working with resistance again. Muscle burns fat, so being on a low calorie diet will probably slow down your metabolism drastically. Muscle speeds up metabolism, along with proper eating, and cardio exercises.

Without proper caloric intake, you could lose a lot of energy too.
You can always gain muscle and muscle tone back by eating a healthy diet, exercising, and working out. Lifting weights helps too. I don't know about metabolism.
sure you can, why did you want to lose it in the first place? Just to gain it back?
Yes...starting a work out routine will build your muscles back up, and eating foods that improve your metabolism (carrots) will help to bring that back to where it was prior to dieting.
yes
building muscle will naturally increase your metabolism
yes. excercise and weights or resistance will build muscle and also increase your metabolism.
