Is it a bad sign if you feel like you need to be sick when you go for a run?

Question:
I run about 3 or four times a week so my fitness level is quite good, the runs I go on last for about an hour, but sometimes I feel like I am going ot be sick when I am running! I know its not coz I have just eaten coz I wait for about 5 hours after eating till I go out for the run! What can it be, should I see a doctor about it?

Answers:
Although you have eaten, it was 5 hours ago. the fact that you are feeling sick is your bodies way of telling you your blood glucose levels are low. Your body uses glucose for energy and you are using a lot of energy whilst running.
Best thing would be to have an energy drink whilst running or leaving 2-3 hours after eating, before running.
Just don't eat anything too heavy. Complex carbohydrates are a good supply of slow releasing energy (pasta, rice, wholemeal bread etc).
If you are worried and this has never happened before, it is probably an idea to go see your doctor. if you you live in the UK you could get the advice from NHS direct (telephone helpline)
means your over doing it try cutting it to 40 mins runs see wot happens
Back when I was in track the Coach didn't stop running us until SOMEONE got sick. He felt it showed you were giving your all. Just back off a bit.
people who run the London marathon are often sick - you are pushing yourself too far. Slow down - eat little and often.
no its normal. It happens 2 me too. I talked to my gym teacher about tht, my gym teacher told me to check, if i m doin over excersice or not by a test. As long as you can talk durin runin, u r ok. I used to run 70 min, three times a week, i found out tht i m doin over my limit. i reduced it to 45. I m ok now. I don feel sick.

My running days r over caz winter is cumin.....haha
You could be over doing it. Also 5 hours is a long time, try eating a heathy snack an hour before running. Drink water and make sure you stay hydrated. Normally when people just start a new excrise program they feel sick because there body isn't use to it.
Try not to eat chocolate or any fat stuff all day, before you go running. I felt sick every time I had tea with sugar before i went training.
On another side its a very good sign you giving 100% on your exercise. You can definitely achieve something big!
And make sure you get enougth sleep and food.
overdoing it maybe
