150 and going down?
Question:
Answers:
You need to stop drinking the diet cokes for weight loss and health reasons.
According to the latest study something linked to diet soda drinking is also linked to obesity. Here is the article: http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2005/06/13/health/webmd/main701408.shtml
Also, colas in general are very bad for you. Please read this excerpt from the book "Fantastic Voyage" by Grossman/Kurzweil: "Most soft drinks, particularly colas, are extremely acidic. To prevent acidic poisoning from cola (or other acid) consumption, the body uses two strategies. One is to use alkaline blood buffers (for example, sodium bicarbonate and sodium phosphate) to buffer (neutralize) the acid. The other strategy is to convert these volatile liquid acids into less-reactive solid acids. However, there were no colas thousands of years ago, so our bodies did not evolve to deal effectively with the onslaught of acids that many people consume today.
When the body's limited supply of alkaline buffers is defeated, these toxic acidic waste products accumulate in the body, causing significant health damage.
There are two strategies that you can use to restore your body's alkaline reserves, which are needed for detoxification and destroying oxygen free radicals:
1) Avoid indigestible acids found in soft drinks, particularly colas.
2) Drink alkaline water produced with an alkaline water machine."
The following healthy living recommendations will help you if you’re trying to lose weight, tone up your muscles, have aspirations of building lean muscle mass, are attempting to get a wash board stomach, or just want to feel better:
*1) Burn more calories then you're consuming everyday and measure your results using the following formula: Calories Consumed minus Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) minus Physical Activity minus the Thermic Effect of Food (TEF). A website that explains this formula in more detail and will help you determine how many calories you need to reach or maintain a certain weight is at http://www.primusweb.com/fitnesspartner/library/weight/calsburned.htm
Get an online, desktop, or cell phone diet and fitness calculator. This will allow you to easily calculate the above formula, set goals, log your daily calorie consumption, and register your physical activities.
Set realistic goals for your ideal body weight. Here are two websites that will calculate a suggested body weight:

It is difficult and unhealthy to lose more than one or two pounds per week. There are 3,500 calories in a pound. If you eat 500 fewer calories per day for a week you will lose one pound. If you burn through exercise 500 more calories per day for a week you will lose one pound.

*2) Eat natural and organic foods found on earth versus something created by a corporation to make money. Eat meals in small portions throughout the day and take a good multi-vitamin supplement.
Do not try fad diets or diet pills. Avoid “High Glycemic Load Carbs” (sugar, pastries, desserts, refined starches such as breads, pasta, refined grains like white rice; high starch vegetables such as potatoes) and drink lots of water. Read this article for more information on high GL Carbs:

*4) Get plenty of sleep. Sleep experts say most adults need between seven and nine hours of sleep each night for optimum performance, health, and safety.
*5) Educate yourself continually on health issues and make a life long commitment to good health. A great free publication is “Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2005”. A reputable test you can take to measure your biological age is at http://realage.com
Look at all areas where you can enhance your health. For example, make improvements in the quality of the air you breathe. Review outdoor air quality forecasts where you live and get an indoor air purifier.

It is very common to hit a plateau when losing weight. Muscle tends to weigh more than fat, so as you are building muscle and losing fat, your weight equalizes. Just remember that the weight isn't the important thing. The important thing is your percentage of body fat, health and appearance.
Congratulations! 20 lbs in a month, that's good.
You will hit a plateau where the weight just seems to sit there.
Diet drinks have aspertame which does hinder weight loss. Try water with a little lemon or lime.
You are on a roll. It does get harder to lose weight the smaller you get. You have done a great job so far! You might have to maintain this weight for a while, then kick it into high gear with a lot of cardio. Have you been working out? If not, that will really help to increase your metabolism. I drink 4 diet cokes a day and It doesn't hurt my diet at all.
You will have to work harder to burn more calories. A 170lb person burns more calories running a mile, compared to a 150lb person running a mile at the same pace. You have to make up for the weight loss by stepping it up a bit. Give your body a little shock by exercising a little harder one week and the metabolism will still stay up there. You will also be conditioning yoru body to handle more exercise.
instead of diet coke try flavored water like crystal light. its only 5 calories a glass and they have a lot of flavors and no caffeine.. (caffeine reduces your blood flow when you exercise by up to 30%)
Diet coke isn't actually that good...It has artificial sweeteners....The best thing is to cut soda down and with w/e soda you have add half or even 1/4 club soda to it to make it less sweet and cut down some calories....
Also try drinking more water too...It's good for you....Make sure you watch your calorie intake too....Are you exercising any ?(because that will help too)
