Curves Question?

Question:
Does anybody regularly go to Curves?? Have you seen results? What is it like? It seems like it's worth a shot based on what I've read on the website but a friend of mine said it wasn't worth her time? =/ Not sure what is best for me.

Answers:
I joined at the beginning of July, but missed about a week and a half due to various reasons. Only over the past week and a half or so have I been going regularly (3x per week).

I have seen differences already in a few ways. One, I've lost three pounds according to the scale at Curves. Which doesn't sound like a lot for a whole month, but considering that before I went I was stuck at the same weight for about three months, to me it's significant.

Two, I can see some differences in some places. My fiance' and I noticed today that my ankles look different. Which sounds stupid, but they look slimmer and not as puffy. Whether that's the result of the exercise, or combined with the fact that I'm drinking more water and less diet soda, I don't know. But it's a positive change.

Three, when I'm doing the workout, I can already feel that exercises that were really hard the first couple of times (like the d*mned squat machine) are already a little easier and don't hurt as much. I can do a couple of more reps in the time allowed than I did when I started. I'm also more flexible than I was when I started, based on the stretching exercises that I do after the workout (I highly recommend NOT skipping those, by the way).

Little steps, but that's how a journey starts.

I'd recommend going in and telling them that you're interested - the ones I had gone to offered a "free" workout to give you an idea of what it's like, and the ones around here are also having some specials going on for membership.

Yes, Curves is great, my sister works there. They combine strength training with cardio. Strength training builds muscle so you burn more calories and cardio also burns fat and calories. Go for it . The diet plan they have is also great. If you want an extra boost, I would suggest a cleansing diet. I did this and lost 11 pounds and 16 inches in 9 days. I like the program since it works by giving your body nutrition through protein shakes with digestive enzymes and vitamins and then cleansing out the toxins. We get toxins in our bodies from pesticides, preservatives, water, pollution, medications, food additives etc…. These toxins enter our bodies and get coated with fat. To remove the extra fat, we need to get rid of the toxins through cleansing. The program also has a natural diet pill to help your metabolism and curb cravings. It works and it works fast. I lost 30 pounds in 5 weeks and I feel great. My skin has improved as well from the cleansing. You can get more info at this toll free number 1-877-587-4647. I think cleansing is really important to health and weight loss. Give it a try and good luck!
I have been going for a year now and I feel wonderful. The thing I like most is that your age or shape doesn't matter. There are ONLY women there and they are from teens to 80's. Some already look great, some have just had a baby are are expecting, and some need to lookse 200 pounds. Be we all support each other. I have made friends with a couple of ladies and we are there at the same time coaching each other. In the last year I have lost 32 pounds. My friend has lost 52 pounds. We look and feel great and it's actually fun to get together with ladies just like us and workout. The intensity of the work out depends you and not the machine. If you think you need more than you just do it harder or faster. It works great. I can do anything for 30 seconds.
