abdominal Crunches?


Question:
I am trying to train my fiancee, and she is having problems doing crunches. She does crunches, and can do 20-30 reps, and barely feel anything, she can't contract her abs, before starting the crunch, does anybody know a trick to teach her to contract her abs, before she starts her excercise.

all she has to do is suck her stomach in coming up on the crunch and release or relax her stomach muscles going back down. remind her to exhale coming up into the crunch and inhale going down out of the crunch. keep her hands on the back of her head for support and not on her neck and to keep her elbows and arms straight to the sides at all times. or else she would be pulling on her head and neck to raise herself up and this could cause unnecessary neck pain. and to do only as many as she can comfortably, until she builds up to greater strength. knees shoulder width apart and bent slightly she's doing crunches, not situps. she can alternate this by bringing the opposite elbow towards the opposite knee at the same time bringing the opposite knee upwards to the arm. this will help build up the waist muscles, for that curve that women love to have. she can also practice these while sitting or standing, like in line at a store, simply suck in the stomach and hold for ten seconds, release and do repeatedly. this can also be done with the butt muscles. just squeeze,hold then relax. both can be done while doing nothing, even watching tv. on one can see, so she need not be embarass. we women must make every minute count, because we natually have more fat tissues than men. that's all breast tissue is. its because our bodies are made to carry babies throughout a pregnancy. she can contract any of her muscles just by sqeezing them, even the thigh and calf muscles.

have her lay on her back, with legs closed, and knees bent. then as if doing a crunch, have her put her knees and elbows together. Then push a pair of tennis balls between the left elbow and knee, and the right elbow and knee. Then have her just lay there, squeezing the tennis balls betweeen her knees and elbows. If she don't feel it at first, then feel free to sit beside her and watch tv or something. Trust me, if she can squeeze those balls without dropping them, then she will get an abb workout.
