If you must fast, (no food or drink for 25 hours) what is the best way to prepare to make the fast as easy?

nothing - you can't prepare for it, just go in with an open mind that you are detoxing your body. Drink LOTS of water and take a multi vitamin. The first 8 hours are the worst - then it's easy sailing. Shower often and scrub your skin with a loofah to flake off dead skin and toxins your body will emit.

keep your mind busy. Find a book that you can really get into. Don't do anything that is going to make you thirsy because then you will think about being thirsy.

25 hrs? seems weird...Oh well.. Start in the early evening as last meal, then you will be half way done by morning, the rest is just tough it out! If you are fasting for medical reason, don't cheat or it will ruin the test!
if i had to fast tommorrow for medical reasons, i would first ask the doctor exactly what i should eat or drink the day before. if i were to fast for dieting purposes i would still diet the day before the fast, then i would not eat or drink the next day. Most fasts allow water, to keep one hydrated. i'm not sure its a good idea to go without fluid that long especially if you are going to go outside in this heat. if i were determined to fast for that one day, i would make sure that i had the day off from work or school, and plenty of things to keep the mind occupied. i would try to meditate the day of the fast. i would read all about fasting on the internet. if i weren't on a diet i would stuff myself the day before and drink plenty of fluids, then fast.
