The following healthy living recommendations will help you if you’re trying to lose weight, tone up your muscles, have aspirations of building lean muscle mass, are attempting to get a wash board stomach, or just want to feel better:
*1) Burn more calories then you're consuming everyday and measure your results using the following formula: Calories Consumed minus Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) minus Physical Activity. Get a fitness calculator that you can put on your cell phone and computer. This will allow you to easily calculate this formula, log your daily calorie consumption, and register your physical activities.
*2) Eat natural and organic foods found on earth versus something created by a corporation to make money. Eat meals in small portions throughout the day and take a good multi-vitamin supplement.
Avoid “High Glycemic Load Carbs” (sugar, pastries, desserts, refined starches such as breads, pasta, refined grains like white rice; high starch vegetables such as white potatoes) and drink lots of water.
Do not try fad diets or diet pills. Here is an excellent food pyramid that anyone can follow: http://www.rayandterry.com/html/images/PyramidLRG.gif?osCsid=26a424be471d1337e7c2f105d5c64d9d
*3) Exercise on most days by doing cardiovascular training and/or resistance training activities.
Read a book or find a certified trainer to make sure your doing all resistance training exercises correctly. *4) Get plenty of sleep. Sleep experts say most adults need between seven and nine hours of sleep each night for optimum performance, health, and safety.
*5) Educate yourself continually on health issues and make a life long commitment to good health. A great free publication is “Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2005”. A superb book to read is “You The Owner’s Manual”. An excellent periodic publication is the “Nutrition Action Health Letter”. Other Answers:
eat healthy foods and don't eat lots of sweet.
Other than choosing a healthy diet you can try swimming. It's easier on the joints than most other forms of exercise. Stop eating
stay off soda, try to lower carbs like bread, of course no fast food , smaller portions
I lost 40 lbs on the atkins diet and kept it off.
ive never had to deal with weight i just snack alot get my matabolism up so just eat something every 2 hours nothing big JUST LIKE..3 LIL COOKIES OR SOMETHING. tHOUGH THATS WHAT CHEERLEADERS DO I EAT WHATEVER THE HELL I WANT AND DONT GIVE AND IM 6% BODY FAT srry caps Eat more often during the day, in "small" quantities. Since you can't really exercise hardcore, walking will do wonders for you! :)
Don't eat nothing but cereal .
Try cutting dairy, eggs, refined sugar and wheat from your diet for about a month. It's hard, but if you're serious, it won't be too bad. When you're done, though, you should re-introduce those things slowly so you don't gain the weight back. And BE CAREFUL in college! FIGHT THE FRESHMAN 15!
Don't eat junk food i.e. candy, cookies, chips and other foods like that. Increase your water and decrease the soda pop even if it is diet, it is still bad for you.
If you can talk to your parents into buying a elliptical type of a machine, it will have less impact on your joints.
If you can manage just walking a mile or two everyday that will work as well.
Good luck.
You can certainly try swimming or water aerobics which have proven to be less stressful on the joints.
Stop drinking pop or eating sweets. I also suggest limiting your caffeine intact.
Basically, if exercise is not an option you need to lower the amount of calories you intact to a point lower than the amount of calories you burn per day.
Certainly do NOT just stop eating. You may lose a few pounds at the start but after a week or two this will send your body into a state of holding or hording any food you put in. it will try to store any calories you eat in order to feed you later while you're starving.
Best wishes.
