A question for a nutritionist..

Question:
I have a two and a half year old son. He is 33 and a half inches tall. He weighs between 28 and 30 lbs. (it fluctuates). He was born 3 weeks early and weighed 9lbs .05 oz, My ob said if he had been full term he would have been about 12lbs. He doesnt eat junk food, only healthy lean meats, fresh fruits and vegetables, and occasionally a sweet here and there. (teddy grahms). Our health department said hes heavy for his height. I am just wondering what I am doing wrong, if anything. I feel he's very healthy. He has a very healthy appetite. Any advice?

Answers:
As long as he not cosidered obese dont worry about it. There is no correct weight for a little kid. He was born big so you can only expect him to grow at that constant rate. You cant expect him to not grow. I am not a nutritionist but I have worked with lots of little kids. One little girl I was a nanny for was the top 98% for her wieght and height but she didnt eat anything out of the oridnary that was just her. THe doctor told us that it was ok and healthy.

Other Answers:
do you have any relatives or somebody in your family who's diabetic? big babies are usually sign of diabetic. was he quite a big baby when he was born?.. check ad consult with your doctor
