The bottom line is if you want to lose inches, but not pounds, you have to convert fat to muscle. The only way that can happen is by becoming active. You don't have to do it in a gymnasium. You can get outside and run, jog, paddle, speedwalk, swim, or take aerobics, pilates, or any of the other exercise programs available. But until you get those muscles working and burn off the fat, you're stuck with the inches.
There are some gadgets advertised on late night TV and Sunday afternoon radio programs, that offer to do magical things. Mostly, what they do is make money for the guy who invented them. What they don't do, is provide a lasting, fit, trim body for you, and that's what you're looking for.
